Realism - Checking what the weather on an app but then stepping outside.

Pragmatism - Knowing even if you play the same sport basketball, every game is different and cannot be predicted how it will go.

Existentialism - Experiencing riding a roller coaster then just watching a video of one.

The relation to other philosophies,

My teaching philosophy is realism I believe that students learn best being out and connected to the world as each of them can experience life in a unique way. It could also relate to pragmatism as students can really explore their own learning and find new things that interest them. My personal teaching metaphor does not include idealism or existentialism. I do think that both are important, and I will defiantly incorporate them into the learning in my classroom, but mainly emphasis on realism and pragmatism.

Strengths - All lessons follow a certain structure.

Weakness - Students are often less involved as teachers are the ones doing most of the talking and teaching.

Realism:

Strengths - Offers involvement within learning whether that be hands on or for example experiencing the learning rather than reading about a certain topic.

Weakness - Can be hard come up with interactive lessons.

Pragmatism:

Strengths - Students are leading discussion and working with each other to learn about topics.

Weakness- Teachers steps away and lets students lead but also needs to make sure information is being learned.

Existentialism:

Strengths - Students are able to lead themselves and choose what interest them in learning.

Weakness - Can be hard for the teacher to teach based off of all student's interest - need common ground.
