The golden eagle looks the way it does because of heredity! This means he has traits form both his mom and dad in his DNA through sexual reproduction. So, he looks a little like both of them. This eagles parents might have been light - medium brown and had lighter colored beaks. Some golden eagles are light brown, dark brown, big, small, or have light or dark beaks. We all get different traits form our parents and their parents before them. These can include hair color, eye color, hair texture, skin color, and how tall or short we are. This is why you look like both your mom and dad! What traits do you get from your parents?

Some of you may be wondering how this and other amazing rock formations came to be. The answer to this question is weathering and erosion (which also play a major part in the rock cycle)! Weathering breaks down the Earth's surface into smaller pieces. Those pieces are moved in a process called erosion and deposited somewhere else. Weathering can be caused by wind, water, ice, plants, gravity, and changes in temperature. Water, wind, and glaciers contribute to erosion by picking up pieces and moving them to a new location.

The game tug-of-war has been around for thousands of years. While the origin of the game is not completely certain amongst experts, it is known that many different cultures have used the game of tug-of-war for various lessons throughout time. For example, in ancient Greece the game was practiced as a competitive sport and in China, the game was used to train warriors for battle. Evidence has been found that the game has been played in places all over the world including Egypt, India, Japan, Korea, Hawaii and South America. Today here in American we use this game to help teach the lesson of Force and Motion.

The game tug-of-war helps students to understand Newton’s Third Law of Motion, which says for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. The game provides a real-life way to experience the pushing and pulling of forces. In the game of tug-of-war, the first side to pull the rope is the “action force” and the “reaction force” will be the movement that goes along with the tug. Balanced forces will be seen when both sides are pulling equally on the rope, creating no movement. It is when the forces become unbalanced, which is when someone pulls with more strength, that the rope will move in a certain direction. To demonstrate the lesson even farther, students can go to https://phet.colorado.edu/sims/html/forces-and-motion-basics/1.0.0/forces-and-motion-basics_en.html and run the simulation to see the basics of tug-of-war and how the game involves force and motion.

But what happens when those wasters and the tropical climate experience a change in atmospheric pressure? They become the perfect spot for a hurricane. While teaching students about weather and climate, hurricanes are a key topic with a lot of history behind them. We hear a lot about hurricanes and the damage that they cause, but often not how or why they happen. My activity dives into why/how hurricanes occur, why Mexico's climate is an ideal place for hurricanes to occur, and the hurricane season they have built around them.

Food chains always begin with the sun as a source of energy, then producers convert that energy into a form that they can use. A primary consumer will eat the producer and the energy it has is transferred to the consumer. A secondary consumer eats the primary consumer, and a tertiary consumer eats the secondary consumer. After a plant or animal dies, a decomposer breaks it down and returns the nutrients and energy to the soil for the producers to use once again. By: Alexis Stewart

My science lesson would be introducing the water cycle to my students. I would first ask my students if they have heard of the water cycle and what is it. After giving them the opportunity to talk I would explain what it is. As a class I will go over everything they need to know and explain how each step is important. Once my students have a better understanding of what it is I would talk about other continents and how much it rains there. I would compare South America to Australia. One continent is the wettest on the planet while the other is the driest. I would tell my students that because South America has one of the largest rivers in the world there is lots of rain there. I would stop and ask them to explain why having a body of water is important to see if they understand the water cycle. After checking for understanding I would move onto Australia and explain how it is dry and doesn't have a lot of rivers like South America. I would want my students to understand how each step is important for it to rain at the end and understand why places like the dessert doesn't rain, or go through "The Water Cycle." My activity would be a sheet that they can color. It is good for the students to see a picture for better understanding. There will also be numbers for them to cut out and paste according to the correct steps.

This will explain the students how there are different seasons for each country depending where the country is located. I will show a video of a woman talking about the weather and temperature in Vietnam and I hope this will reflect back to the students how different the weather it is from North America from Vietnam. Our summer in North America is from June-August while summer in Vietnam is from May-October. Starting from September in North America will be fall! The seasons in Vietnam are longer than ours. I hope this lesson will teach students the different seasons of the month each country is experiencing from each other.

Hi, kiddos! Want to learn more about space and the first person that went into space? Well, let us learn more about SPACE!

Space is also known as outer space. Is the large area that contains all of the planets including our planet the Earth, stars including our Sun which is a star, and galaxies that we presently know. Space contains no air or gravity and is so huge that we still have not fully explored it!

In the 1950s, there was a big improvement in science and technology related to what we knew about space. This leads to the interest in outer space increasing along with different countries.

In the "Space Race" which begin in 1957, the United States and the Soviet Union were in competition with each other on who can enter outer space first. IMAGINE THAT! Being the first person to enter outer space!

On April 12, 1961, Yuri Gagarin was the first person that entered space! He was a Russian cosmonaut that completed ONE SINGLE ORBIT around our planet Earth. This lasted about an hour and 48 minutes.

As part of celebrating our exploration and knowledge of space, you will complete a worksheet and create your own rocket!

Pittu Garam or "Seven Stones" can be played anywhere and anytime as long as you have seven stones, a ball, and at least two people. This game is played by stacking seven flat stones on top of each other and taking turns to see who can knock over the stones first. This game is similar to Jenga but it is played in Pakistan.

The purpose of playing this game is to learn about Newton's first law of motion. This law states an object remains at rest and an object in motion maintains it's velocity unless it experiences an unbalanced force. The seven stones represent the object that remains at rest. When the players attempt to knock down the stones, using the force of the ball in motion, they are testing Newton's first law. When a player knocks the stones down with the ball, they see Newton's first law in action.
