There's this expectation that women tend to be less STEM oriented, or that Asians have to be good at math or science. Although there may be some historical truth to these claims, there is always room for change. Personally, I come from a family with a good background in math and science, and all of the men in my family have gone into science at some point in their life, while a majority of the females have spent a large portion of their life working as lawyers or being an at home mom.
