While I have used AI to plan my current unit, I have strong concerns about it's applications and how to embrace the inevitable and teach my students how to use it appropriately so they can still learn from using it.

Questions: How do I teach students to use it as a resource instead of a brain? I’ve used it to check myself against the machine, create quizzes, and to awe myself. I’m hoping to learn ways to embrace the future of AI instead of standing around complaining about it.

I’m struggling with students using AI to generate their work and call it their own. They are not using their critical thinking or writing skills and I fear they don’t see the value in struggling through hard tasks. I know there is a place for AI in my classroom, but I haven’t found it yet.

I have been teaching high school English in a totally synchronous online school for four years . I would like to learn strategies to incorporate AI into my teaching as a resource that can enhance my students’ learning as opposed to being an easy way to “get by” when completing assignments.

They love to use it to write papers for them and then just add a few specific examples because I teach online, it’s evident when they wrote it and when AI wrote it.

High school English and theatre teacher. My school is looking to build a digital citizenship policy and revise our academic honesty policy. We’re seeking to find the right balance between traditional writing skills and using AI as a resource and tool.

Before going into admin, I taught English for 10 years, primarily in 10th and 12th grade.

I am interested in learning how to teach my students to use AI ethically as a tool for their learning. I also want to be able to take back tips and ideas to share with my colleagues.

My name is Lívia and I am from NYC. I am an elementary school teacher, an adjunct assistant professor, and I LOVE all of my students!!! I have never used AI and I would like to leave this session having an understanding of how I can use AI effectively.
