getting into a car accident

it was a normal Friday afternoon in Abu Dhabi. My friends alyaziya, aysha and I were hanging out after school, the sun was very hot, and the streets were busy, and everything felt normal, we were driving around Abu Dhabi, laughing, playing and having fun then suddenly everything changed. A car came out of nowhere driving too fast, it hit salamas’s car on the side with a loud bang. The sound was so scary, and smoke came out of the car and filled the air. People started shouting and running toward us. My heart was beating so fast. Salama was stuck behind the wheel, and she looked very weak, alyaziya jumped out to help her while I called the ambulance with shaking hands. Cars stopped and everyone was honking, and time felt very slow, finally the ambulance came with loud sirens and flashing red lights, the helpers pulled salama out and put her on a stretcher and I thought me might lose her right there. Alyaziya held Sholder and we both felt so scared. The helpers worked fast they gave salama oxygen and checked her breathing. After a moment she opened her eyes, I felt so happy and relieved. The police cleared the road and things started to calm down, at the hospital the doctor told us that salama would be okay. She only had small cuts ands bruises, that night alyaziya and I felt thankful. A normal day in Abu Dhabi turned into a scary one but it also taught us that life is so short and we should always care about the people we love .

Broke his arm

There was a boy called Ahmed. He is 18 years old and lives in Abu Dhabi, in Khalifa City. He loves football and often plays with his friends. One Saturday afternoon, he played a game at the park. He wanted to do a special trick to impress everyone. But he slipped and fell hard on his arm. It hurt a lot, and his friends quickly came to him. Some were worried, but others laughed a little. At the hospital, the doctor said his arm was broken.

The injury stopped Ahmed from playing football, writing, and even doing simple things. But his family and friends helped him every day. They made him smile and stay positive. From this, Ahmed learned to be patient and careful. He also learned it is okay to laugh at yourself when things go wrong. Today, Ahmed still plays football, but he is more careful with tricks. He always remembers the lesson he learned in Khalifa City.

Maya was a bright student. She lives in Abu Dhabi, she lives in a big villa, she loves horse riding and she always focuses only on horses and her parents hates it. She aced every test, understood the material easily, and even helped classmates before exams. But she had one habit that cost her dearly is that she is skipping class.

She thought, Why sit through lectures when I can study on my own? So she stayed home, confident her grades would speak for themselves.

When final grades came out, her GPA had dropped. Shocked, she went to her professor.

“Your work is excellent,” the professor said. “But attendance is 20% of the grade. You’ve lost too many points by not being here.”

Maya walked out realizing that success in college wasn’t just about knowing the answers but it was also about showing up.

So the next semester, Maya set a strict routine: she scheduled her study sessions earlier in the evening, went to bed on time, and treated class attendance like an unmissable appointment. Even when the lecture felt repetitive, she showed up, took notes, and participated.

By the end of the term, her GPA climbed again, not just because of her test scores, but because her commitment was reflected in the simple act of being present.

There was Aisha, an 18 years old. From Al Falah, Abu Dhabi. She had always dreamed of becoming a Doctor. Growing up, she saw herself donning a white lab coat, fixing people, and transforming lives. She worked hard, but university life proved to be too much. The studies, The exams, and The practicals were bogging her down, and she knew that her heart was no longer in there. During a very important practical examination, she got it wrong and lost confidence, panicking, knowing that she could not continue on a path that was not for her. Upon speaking with her mentor and careful thought, Aisha decided to try out a new career that matched her creativity and passion. Slowly but surely, she gained confidence and knowledge in this new area of work. It was not the future she had in mind, but it was correct, and it learned her that it's fine for dreams to change and that happiness comes from working on a path that is fitting to your abilities and passions.

There was my uncle Nasser, 35 years old man. He lived with his wife and children in Al Ain. He was a kind and loving man who always cared deeply for his family and neighbors. Whenever he visited us, he would bring gifts and chocolates. One day, he felt a severe pain in his stomach and went to the hospital. He was diagnosed with stomach cancer. He began treatment at Rashid Hospital in Dubai, close to his family.

We visited him regularly, and with every visit, I noticed how he changed , how he grew weaker and thinner. The strong man we once knew became someone who could barely eat. He then traveled to the United States for further treatment, but shortly after, we received the heartbreaking news of his passing. His condition was hopeless as the cancer had spread.

My mother and aunt were shocked by the news, especially because some of his caretakers tried to hide the truth from us. And so, my dear uncle passed away, and I never got the chance to say goodbye.

Mayed was young man who had a great love for the military. His dad had served as a fighter pilot in the air force, flying jets like the F-16 and F-4. Watching his father enjoy a successful career is what motivated Mayed to follow this life. He joined the national service like any other teenager, but he had a clearer goal: to become a fighter pilot. His hard work paid off when he was accepted among two thousand recruits. This filled him with joy and excitement.

However, before he could proceed, he had to undergo several medical tests. The doctors tested his blood, his eyes, and beyond, but one doctor detected something peculiar in his blood and instructed him to undergo another test. To Mayed’s shock, the results showed that he had cancer, something he had no idea about until he was close to achieving his dream. In a single moment, everything in Mayed's life turned upside down. The doctors started treatment immediately, and the very next day he was in surgery

Mayed woke, feeling weak but thankful to just simply still be alive. Not flying jets remained a dream, but he hoped and got into treatment. He reminded himself real soldiers didn’t give up, it didn’t matter what battle they were in. The days spent in the hospital were treacherous. Chemotherapy left him wasted. Sometimes he thought he couldn’t continue, but every time he saw his father sitting beside him, he found the courage to continue. His father’s words echoed in his mind: “A true fighter is not only the one in the sky but also the one who refuses to surrender on the ground.”

Mayed's body and spirit gradually became stronger, and he came to understand that although his path had changed, his purpose to serve, to inspire, and to live honorably had not. He resumed his civilian life after his treatment was over. Although he never donned the pilot's uniform, he approached everything with the same bravery and discipline. In an effort to change things, he told his story to people, particularly young people, to demonstrate that although life can change drastically in an instant, anyone can overcome it if they have faith and perseverance. Despite not being an F-16 pilot like his father, Mayed developed into a real fighter in life.

THE LOST FALCON

Salem lives in Abu Dhabi with his family. His grandfather owns a falcon named Saif, and Salem loved it very much. Every weekend, they go to the desert to train the falcon, and Salem always dreamed of having his own falcon one day. One afternoon, while Salem was practicing the falcon to flew it too high in the sky. The wind carried it away and did not come back. Salem ran immediately and called it: Saif where are you? But the bird has disappeared. He felt sad and worried while his grandfather told him to stay patient. The next few days, Salem searched everywhere . He looked near the corniche and the souq and even checked near the dessert but nobody had seen the falcon. He almost gave up hope. Then one evening, near the palm outside the city. Salem climbed quickly but the falcon was scared and tried to escape. Salem remembered what his grandfather always said: Stay calm so he spoke softly, moved slowly and finally freed the falcon. When he brought Saif home, his grandfather smiled and said you didn’t only save him, you learned patience. From that day on Salem understood that taking care of falcon wasn’t only about training its about trust.

Mohammed is a 40 year old that was diagnosed with diabetes at a very young age. He lives all alone in the city Jumeirah. Since he was 12 years old he dreamt of becoming a professional chef in a foreign country where he could learn and grow his cooking skills and achieve high quality food. Being close to his mother, at a young age Mohammed loved watching her cook for him and his family, and tried to help her with whatever she needs help with. He would always try to come up with different ideas for the next meal they’re going to have and would take some to the neighbors for them to try. One day Mohammed's parents realized the he started acting differently, but they didn’t say anything about it. A few weeks have passed by and his mother noticed that Mohammed was still the same and did not change, but became worse than before. For the past couple of weeks he would be extremely hungry every time, yet had an unexpected weight loss. He would also get tired frequently and would get irritated when talking to his family. Finally after a month of the same thing, Mohammed was taken to the hospital by his parents and was diagnosed by the doctor with a chronicle disease that was diabetes 1. He was very sad that he was sick to the point where he stopped helping his mom with preparing meals. Growing up Mohammed would not enter the kitchen to cook or help by any means. In his twenties, he suddenly had a passion to cook while taking inconsideration of his illness, and when he finished, he realized that he missed being able to cook and make meals, so he decided that he was going to open his dream restaurant that prepares dishes that are diabetic friendly.

One Tuesday afternoon, right before a very important online meeting with a client, her internet suddenly stopped working.

At first, Salma thought it was just a small glitch, so she refreshed her browser. Nothing happened. She tried reconnecting to the WiFi, but the signal showed no internet. The clock ticked closer to his meeting time, and panic started to build.

The morning was calm and bright when Aisha and her father set out in their small wooden boat. They packed food, water, and their phones, ready for a simple day of fishing. At first, everything went well they caught a few fish, and Aisha laughed as her father teased her about her clumsy grip. By midday, the sky grew dark. Waves struck harder, spilling their basket of food into the sea. A strong wave knocked Aisha overboard, but her father pulled her back, cold and shaking. Hungry, they ate raw fish, but soon Aisha grew sick and weak. Their phones had no signal, and the boat drifted farther from shore. Hours later, the storm faded and the sea grew calmer. But when her father tried to start the engine, the boat only sputtered the patrol had already finished. Aisha grabbed the spare patrol bottle, hoping for fuel, but it was empty. By sunset, her father knew there was only one choice. "'ll swim to shore and bring help," he told her.

Trembling, Aisha begged him not to go, but he slipped into the water and swam toward land.

Alone, Aisha prayed and clutched the net for comfort. Time dragged until lights finally appeared a rescue boat, with her father waving from the front.

They returned safely, and Aisha never forgot the day when the sea turned against them, and her father's courage saved her life.
