One thing I like about the class is how there is a mixture of both concept based lectures and mathematics. I took this course previously and unfortunately passed with a D, so I have to retake it in order to advance in my Econ degree. The previous instructor I had was only teaching the class in concepts of calculus and didn't convey much outside of that regard, so it's refreshing to be able to understand the reasoning behind the calculations this time around.
2. One thing I would change if possible is the structure of the exams. I personally enjoy the open ended questions that require us to show the work because those are the types of questions you would encounter in the real world, not so much multiple choice. I am also just a bad test taker and when presented with multiple options I always second guess myself, so less multiple choice and more open ended questions on the exams.
3. The active learning and set up of groups in the classroom is great. In the real world, you are going to need to communicate with colleagues and coworkers, and I believe with the current structure it builds the foundation of communication and group learning. It opens up opportunities to see others perspectives on how they got the answers vs myself and I believe that's a great set up.
