         <title>Animals for Self-Care</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I always find being around and snuggling animals helps me feel better. However, when I'm at school it's hard to be without them... so I found other ways to be with animals lol:<br><br>First off, there's always an abundance of dogs in downtown Fred happy to be loved! I have also found many random, friendly cats when I walk through the neighborhoods&nbsp; behind campus (on the sunken road side). Though it's suspended right now due to covid, the Fredericksburg SPCA also offers a program called adventure tails where you can take a dog (or cat) out for a day, give it a break from shelter life, and show it off to potential adopters! My freshman year, my suitemate actually got someone to adopt a dog through this program. The SPCA also offers (in covid times, only by appointment for those actually interested in adopting) the chance to sit with, pet, and play with the cats in their rooms.&nbsp;<br><br>If you know of any other ways to interact with animals in Fred during covid, please share!<br>&nbsp;<br>Here's a bonus picture of a super fluffy neighborhood cat who let me pet her for a solid half hour (she was happy with longer, too, but I, sadly, had places to be)</div>]]></description>
