My Induction week as a Digital Marketing Intern for the sustainable brand Relevé Fashion has been exciting and according to my expectations. I have been constantly exchanging emails with my mentor and had a Zoom meeting with her in the first day of work, which I found helpful in building more of my knowledge and confidence. She was very sociable and I sensed her as excited as myself, although knowing how to be professional in presenting my tasks, the overall brand commitments and vision. It was a pleasure for me to connect and discuss about sustainability once again with my mentor and share our opinions and feelings, which I thought were important in my upcoming creations of posts for the brand. She presented to me one task for Social Media that I found interesting and inspiring, which is meant to educate the audience about sustainable fashion terms. As Okur (2019) mentions, apparel retailers of today compete to implement sustainability into their business model. The increasing launch of environmentally friendly brands manufactured with an understanding of corporate social responsibility is encouraging the consumer to take sustainable actions purchasing. As my Mentor pointed, consumers that know more about sustainability may be more likely to purchase sustainable and ethical products. The issue that I mentioned to her although is the fact that fashion education recently has started to be seen by consumers as just a soft marketing strategy, with green washing starting to be extremely used (Sburlino,2019). I felt impressed and content that my mentor asked me to express my ideas and plans regarding not only my role, but general aspects of the brand. I felt comfortable in presenting my plans to innovate the social media appearance and consumer experience for the brand, while my mentor has been listening and encouraging my vision. She has been giving me full access to the brand’s social media accounts, my personal company Google Account and Planoly platform. The fact that I had the opportunity to create and write posts freely and post them on Planoly without first presenting them to my mentor for approval made me feel very confident. During our meeting she mentioned that she was positively surprised of the fact that during my interview I had knowledge of various aspects about sustainable fashion and that I researched the brand well. This made me realise how important it is to be fully aware of your subject of interest and how people perceive these as essential in providing their trust. Still I have asked for support and advice from my mentor regarding the posts and how to use the platform Planoly and Slack communication app, being honest of the fact that I am not fully aware of them. Overall it was an amazing first impression of my first week of work, being able to learn, observe myself and set up goals and objectives for the upcoming weeks. I need to work more on my time management and over thinking tasks that can be solved much easier.

The experience for me at the moment is evolving in the right direction and I do enjoy it very much, although it has become more difficult in terms of the number of tasks and time management. I do believe that the fact that I am attracted and genuinely enjoy working on most of my duties have been helping me to work better, efficiently and learn more easily. To achieve the scope of the research question will be ‘How to market sustainable fashion brands on social media channels for Millennials and Gen Z in the UK?’. Sustainability in Fashion is a relevant topic today, the research will explore and cover the issue of how this term has been raising confusion for consumers in the recent years, with fashion brands using different ethos and transparency statements. The paper will be limited to researching exclusively how social media marketing through education on sustainability is impacting Millenials and Gen Z engagement and their buying behaviour. The reliance of the consumer today is no longer exclusively on purchasing advertised products. The research will help the brand to critically observe if organic social media interaction through education on Sustainable Fashion is as an efficient way to market on social media, in order to raise awareness and drive sales. The first objective of the research will be to research and understand what sustainable fashion marketing represents in relation to the consumer, through literature review. The second and third objectives will be to identify what are the brand’s social media assets when it comes to marketing sustainable fashion, their understanding of the topic and how are consumers engaging with the ‘Sustainable Slang’ approach through data collection. The final objective will be to summarize and conclude the finding through an Interpretivism approach. Making use of an Inductive approach, the question, aims and objectives will be set at the beginning of the research, and remain the same throughout the research and be linked later to existing theories once the research has been conducted (Saunders et al.,2019). Qualitative research methods such as Online Questionnaire Surveys, Zoom and email Interviews will be used to identify subjective and socially constructed meanings expressed about the studied phenomenon. These will be addressed in confidential way due to the matter of the topic, involving the company employees and faithful and open consumers to sustainable lifestyles, consisting of Millenials and Gen Z living in the UK. The secondary data research will consist of Information collected from the Social Media channel of the brand and its close competitors, Google Analytics per one week reports on the consumer traffic, Valid Articles and Journals, Library sources. Reflecting on the answers and planning of my research above, I would say that I still feel concerned regarding the Data Collection and Analysis for the Qualitative Research and the approach I will use, also the fact that the brand does not have that much awareness on Social Media channels such as Instagram. The social media engagement with the consumer at the moment seems to be quite reduced.

Because I always had this passion for the world of fashion and luxury brands, I have been looking for a final internship in this field for a long time. It was very difficult to find one from my country Morocco. I sent my application to several job search sites. I applied to the companies who seemed to me the most suitable for my studies, my expectations and my career.
I faced many challenges during my internship research process. One of them was my availability in the place of work. Most companies wanted me to be there to validate my application. But from another part the university wanted a confirmed internship to give me my case number. So, I was a bit in a dilemma and I was confused after a few weeks I managed to find an internship using my modest network in London. I sent my CV by email. Then I got a response with the date and time of our first meeting.
I was happy and so excited to the idea of doing an internship with a personal shopper. During our introduction meeting we discussed my skills and different studies I did before, experiences I had in morocco and other countries. At the end of the call the manager asked me about what can I add to the company. And we talked about some project he had in his mind. After this meeting I received an email from the manager of LAMMANEE LUXE company confirming that I am convenient for the position. Then I organized two other meetings to sign the agreement and send everything the talent team needs to approve my placement. It was a bit embarrassing to ask the manager many documents and university requirements as I was supposed to help him with his work not adding responsibilities to the company. Fortunately for me he gave me the remark but was very helpful and patient. We agreed that my internship will starts remotely but I have to be in place at some stage of my project with him. So, during my first week I had the chance to have a mini formation about all the skills and abilities a personal shopper should have. I also had a brief of how the work should be done. That was about the theory. Then my manager gives me some orders to process and transfer to him.In details I had to receive orders from social media, gives the clients the price, propose new trends that might sweet them regarding their previous orders confirm all the items they want and transfer it to the office in London make sure the buyer get it from different points of sales we work with in London or Bicester village. And finally make sure they pack it carefully to send it to the client most of the time from Africa.
Even if I had too much pressure and the challenge to be successful in my internship tasks and the academic side of the semester. I am happy because I am learning from every struggle I faced.
