For a lot of us, mom is the first one to show us what strength looks like. She’s the one who works two jobs, keeps the lights on, and still finds time to ask how your day went. She’s the one who teaches you to respect yourself and others, to work hard but stay humble. And when life knocks you down, she’s the one saying, “Get up, baby. You got this.”

But let’s not forget, it ain’t just about biological moms. It’s the aunties who always got your back, the grandmas who drop wisdom like it’s second nature, the big sisters who keep you in check, and the teachers who see your potential before you even do. These women shape us, mold us, and remind us that real strength comes from love and respect.

Mothers and mother figures don’t just raise boys, they raise men. They teach us how to treat women, how to value family, and how to carry ourselves with pride. They’re the reason we know how to show up for the people we care about. And let’s be real, without them, a lot of us wouldn’t be half the men we are today.

So this Women’s History Month, let’s give it up for the mamas, the aunties, the grandmas, and every woman who’s ever poured love and wisdom into a young man’s life. Y’all are the real MVPs, and your mark on this world is forever.

The definition of respect is having regard for the feelings, wishes, rights, or traditions of others; to value someone for their qualities.

Saying you respect someone is good, however, showing respect to someone is better. How do we show respect?

Well, you need to respect yourself first. Having positive thoughts can build strong character. Self-respect builds worthiness, which help us understand how to treat others. Remember though "no one is perfect, we all make mistakes".

There are many ways to show respect: be polite, listen to others, be trustworthy and reliable, show gratitude, and apologize when you are wrong. These are just a few examples of how you can demonstrate respect, not just at school, but everywhere you go?

A final thought is to ALWAYS RESPECT YOUR MAMA!

As a woman it's okay to be your own person. Don't rely on other's approval to dictate how you view yourself. Remember to do what makes you happy, be different, change the scope of how the world views women. YOU are a WORLD CHANGER.

Also remember to embrace your sisters, for together we STAND, but divided we fall. No matter.. Tall, Small, Dark or Light we all have strength to SHINE BRIGHT!
