• it was through this decade of struggle did she manage to convince her parents to send her off to an actual school for her final years. with her parents being wary of enrolling her into a private highschool within South Korea, they packed her bags and shipped her off to the states. typical. 
• jinsoul didn't mind ; being physically miles away from her family meant she had obtained the liberty that was stolen from her. 
• in time, she graduated from highschool. but the thought of returning to seoul, to live in the same god forsaken household was an idea that repulsed her to the very core. and so she negotiated: let her spend university overseas too. gain report, make a name out of herself outside before she returns home. 
• it was too good of an offer to give up and eventually, jinsoul found herself enrolled in ( some uni name here ).
• her life resumed quite pleasantly, and for once jinsoul felt as if she could finally live life as if it were her own.
• but life didn't necessarily have that written down for jung jinsoul.
• the death of her grandfather shocked the political world of S.K., a sudden vacancy of a superior role meant hierarchies were to be shifted. meant people were scrambling to get to the top. meant those who were already at the top are at the highest risk of toppling over.
• jinsoul was inevitably coerced to return back home to a house full of chaos, drama, screams and broken wine glasses over the dinner table. home. this is home.
• her parents, now separated, enrolled her into saebom university in the middle of her second year - and she spent the remainder of that time just passing in and out of corridors. like a ghost, she appeared when no one really noticed and disappears before it gained too much traction.
• although, it was hard to not gain attention with the entire family name hanging off her back, whispered with exchanged glances by the entire room the second she steps in. gradually, jinsoul lost her reasons to remain inconspicuous as her mother had strictly instructed.
• she was loved in the states, she was admired, fawned over, chased after. yet, here, she was expected to comply to everyone else and surrender her will once more. "they must be insane." 
• come summer break, right before third year, jinsoul retracted herself from society completely. at least, from within the premises. no bleached dirty blonde head seen for the duration of that blistering heat ; even friends who were presumably close only ever heard voicemails from failed phone calls. everyone assumed she was sent back out. or, underwent a tragedy of sorts.
• in a sense, the tragedy was true. jinsoul buried the docile and conformable daughter of the jungs under her textbooks and ditched her preppy clothes for ones she had come to favored while living abroad. without school, without prying eyes, jinsoul could escape into the night scene as herself. rebirthing into the jinsoul her motherland had never gotten the chance to meet. until now.

— it started off as a mere crush when jinsoul stumbled upon a performance by the kitharas. she thought the guitarist was awfully cute.
— striking up one conversation led to a series of many others, although they were all kept wrapped up under the night skies or contained within the walls of the bar.
