This is not a story, so much as a guide with many liturgical words. While some are more simple words, as one could imagine, some of the words are more complicated to spell and read. However, for a child who has been around a Church and Mass and has heard these terms be used, the story offers great images to pair with words that have been heard. Also, it seems that a child would gain confidence learning words that may seem complicated.

This story could be substituted for any story with a child's own name as the title. My name is Peter, and so thinking about this story was always one that was exciting to read, as, in a small way, I placed myself in the shoes of the young boy. A fun story in which the child feels like the lead character certainly can become a book that is returned to frequently and cause reading to not feel like a task.

This story is silly, and like other stories on this Padlet wall, seems great for encouraging children to want to continue to read the story. Although there may be words a part of it that are new to the children, the story itself and the desire to hear what the silly boy does will be encouraging to continue to read.

Our Lady's Wardrobe

This story is one that gives short pieces to the stories of some of the Marian apparitions. For a child raised in a Catholic household, it is likely that images of Our Lady of Guadalupe or Our Lady of Lourdes may be familiar ones, as well as even parts of the story. This book would allow children that maybe are familiar with the Virgin Mary to learn more about her, with the inclusion of words that may be not so familiar - such as grotto or emerald.

This story of a bunny is great for children because of how straight forward the story is. Each page does not have many, but the words that are included are clearly modeled in the pictures of the story. The story offers quick clues to the children as to what the letter spell and can help in forming a memory as to the combined sounds made by those letters.

This story gives many rhyming words that are silly and catchy. The images make the words hard to forget, the repetition and the rhymes are easy to repeat in ones head and learn words and the image of those words.

The words included in this book are all simple words, and include only a handful of words that are repeated frequently in different orders. The story is a classic story that would not be difficult for children to memorize; that way, as they are reading the text of the story, they can know what the word is and work to match up the word they know with the words they see.

This story is an amazing story for learning many different words associated with the letters of the alphabet. It works through every letter, giving pictures associated with each word to help children remember the word that they are learning to read.

This story includes a lot of action words. The way in which the story is read almost causes a person to act out those action words. The action is shown in the images, making it easy to forget that reading is actually occurring, as if a child is truly reading the picture. The short sentences allows children to focus on the words that are there rather than being caught up with reading a long sentence.
