It is good to keep in mind that one cannot know their backgrounds and environments and how these conditions/histories shape how they are.

Remember they are not adults, even though their behavior seems adult. 

It behooves (don't know what other verb to use!) us to remember they are still maturing intellectually and emotionally and interact with them accordingly, with respect.

Look for the best in them and not think and act on what we think is the worst. I will redouble my efforts every day to at least say hello to people, esp the young in venues as those hanging around library entrances, local metroparks,  and those walking by our house.
If a conversation ensues (usually doesn't)
I'll be more open and less self conscious.

I am not around young people often, much less people of color. While I don't consider myself prejudiced, this video pointed out things I can definitely work on.
