This lasted from 794 C.E to 1185 C.E. They were able to get the power by making the Fujiwara clan's woman get married to the emperor. They repeated this many times which got them to influence over the government. This all took place in the capital Kyoto. They wanted power so they can control the other clans around them. However, their rain all came to an end when the Taira defected the Fujiwara losing their power. Although the Fujiwara had a lot of power, they lost all of it in the end.
