I hope that this is something that I don't lose!]]> 2017-11-29 03:46:40 UTC https://padlet.com/susan_holveck/anf4lfwcja7x/wish/211244649 https://padlet.com/susan_holveck/anf4lfwcja7x/wish/211244719 The last 3 years have changed the direction of my career.  I became a PE Teacher to mainly teach good character (and play games all day) as I feel character is way overlooked in today's schools.  Now, I hope to change students' view of their world and themselves through next gen and of course- character.  There is such a need to study and take care of our environment and students seem to take to it like fish to water.  Perhaps with next gen in place, the future really will be exciting and innovative through the work of our students.   I have adopted the mantra of ...students do the Practices as they make sense of a phenomena or to design solutions and the Core Ideas and Crosscutting Concepts are the tools to help them achieve those explanations and solutions.

The passion of the teachers and their willingness and bravery in trying out new things was a constant sort of wonderment to me. The MSP teachers have pushed me to deepen my knowledge, allowing me to now work on NGSS formative assessment with 11 other lead states. This work would not have been possible without the deep learning that occurred as part of this grant.  This was a surprising and welcome outcome to me.
