This style is used for different reasons; the artist may want to show their popularity by using in-concert footage so the audience can see how many people went to watch the concert, so the audience watching can see the energy of the song and the artist and how it emotionally effected the audience, also if you have footage of the artists face and body language throughout the song it can express the artists feelings for the song and how it effects them. Some artists after they go on tour for an album will release a video for one one the songs on the album that is footage from the tour a as a dedication to the tour and everyone who worked on it or went  to it. An example of an in-concert music video is Taylor Swifts New Romantics, the video is based around her 1989 tour. The video includes lots of different shots and clips from the tour and the different days she performed, in the video it includes segments were Taylor expresses how she felt about the tour how it was 'Remarkable' and she 'Never wanted to forget anything' I think it's good to include this because it shows the fans of she felt about the tour and everything that happened and they can relate to her if they went themselves. 

To achieve this type of music video during the tour Taylor would of had a number of different resources and crew just to film the footage from the different concerts for the video. They used a lot of different camera angles and movements to show the atmosphere of the tour and the greatest moments of it. Some of the different movements used were; long shots of the arenas and the crowds showing them having a good time, a birds eye view of the stage, close ups of Taylor singing and close ups of some of the audience faces that show their happiness with the show. The directors choose to included this footage because it shows viewers how good a Taylor Swift concert is and how good of a entertainer she is but also to show the highlights of the tour to get people to want to go to the next one.

Each person can see a video in a different way and understand a different meanings depending on their opinions and knowledge. this is a goods style for directors to use if they want a debate in the fan base or develop a deeper complexity in the video. this can cause the audience to feel connected to the video if they think of a meaning of the video and the intentions or beliefs of the artist. Interpretive music videos normally want the audience to make their own interpretation of what they think the music video is about.
An example of an interpretative video is Rhihanna 'Russian Roulette' This video is a prime example of an interpretive music video as the video dent have a clear meaning giving the audience time to inter prate it in whatever way they want. The video is about a woman who appears to of been placed inside a special Russian prison, where the guards don’t seem to be too nice to her. This means that the audience has to interpret their own meaning on the video as it isn’t made clear where she is or why she is there. A lot of artist choose to use narrative in their music videos now and its different and the story that they are showing in the video could be a personal experience or something they feel strongly for. Most of the time the story that the artists are telling in the video features in the lyrics. Narrative music videos require the viewer to understand the lyrics of the song and these types of music videos are easily understood and enjoyed by the audience. An example of an narrative based music video is; Taylor Swifts 'You Belong With Me' (2009) the video is about a girl (the protagonist and narrator), who is played by Taylor Swift, and a guy in high school who are next door neighbours, the girl is a 'nerd' and 'un-popular' and is secretly in love in the guy and has been for a while but the guy is popular and the star of the football team who also has a girlfriend (the antagonist and girlfriend), also played by Taylor Swift, who the most 'popular' girl in the school, she's also quite mean to everyone she thinks is 'below' her, the guy doesn't realise till his girlfriend cheats on him that she isn't nice and is actually in love with the main girl. The is like the classic high school romance films you get a lot where the un-popular girl liked the popular guy but in the end she gets the guy. A lot of teenage girls can relate with this video because they have gone through it themselves. 

The music video is set out where the lyrics match up to what footage you see, for example at the start you see Taylor's character on the bed and as the song starts it say; 'You're on the phone with your girlfriend, she's upset. She's going off about something that you said' as she sings the lyrics you see the guy in his room next door on the phone looking upset. The video does this a few other times in the video as the lyrics tell the story of whats happening. Taylor Swift said in an interview; 'This video was pretty much all story line and i'm narrating it in the moment, basically narrating while all this is happening to me'  the video is still the 99th most-viewed music video of all time. Surrealist videos can appeal to everyone even children if they include animation it can be fun and exciting for them. Using this style is a way to make the video memorable to the audience and can help sell the song and/or album. An example of an Surrealist music video is Katy Perry's E.T ft. Kanye West (2011) the video is set in the and about an alien, played by Katy Perry, who is drifting through outer space while she is evolving into a more human appearance before landing on an abandoned future earth filled with trash and she comes across a broken robot that looks like an spaceman; she kisses it and it turns into an naked man and they kiss in front of the sunrise. Meanwhile Kanye West is featured in the video floating in a spacecraft and also there are a few clips of large animals hunting. The video is surrealist because its about an alien that aren't real and alludes to a presumable future, as Perry finds a box containing a skeleton of a pigeon that said to have gone extinct in 2030 and a pair of Vogue sunglasses. The whole video has artificial and unreal elements in it, including the alien, how Perry is dresses and her make-up and an abandoned earth. The audience would find it strange but entertaining because its a future that wouldn't happen but leaves the audience thinking what if it did. Reviews said that; it was 'Awesomely bizarre science-fi video' and a 'Sweeping visual manifestation'. 
 
It took a lot of special effects and camera work to achieve this video. They would have used chroma key to film the scenes for this video especially the scenes of Perry floating through the sky. There is usually a theme that will connect the shots together.b Using impressionist shot can make the video aesthetically pleasing and increase the amount of attention paid to it. 

An example of an impressionist video is; Rihanna 'Only Girl (In the World)' (2011) the song is about Rihanna demanding and wanting physical attention from her lover. The video was filmed in different locations of fields, mountain trails and a flower wall and Rihanna was the only person in the shot and in the video reflecting the title. There are a few different types of impressionist shots in the video, all of them include Rihanna. A couple of them are of her standing in front of an flower wall, one time she throws rose petals and the other is where she throws her fluffy scarf at the camera. The other shots are of a bug pink rose in a field with Rhianna standing around it and Rhinna swinging on a swing in field. Parodies have gotten a lot more popular in recent years and some YouTubers have become famous because of their parodies. Parodies can come in different forms, like animation, narrative and as-live, sometimes they change the lyrics of the original song and add lyrics that make fun of the artists or other people but they keep the rhythm of the original song so they sound similar.

An example is a parody of Taylor Swifts '22' by Bart Baker (2013). In the original music video by Swift, she goes through a day in the life when she is 22 years old and shows how most people at her age are at the point in their lives when they can have so much fun. But in this parody version, Baker uses the same tune but doesn't mock the original meaning of the song. In this video, we see Bart dressed as Taylor and talks about how she wants revenge on her boyfriends that dumped her. I think that Bart got the idea from one of the first lines in the original video that he does reference in the beginning. This means that the music isn't just the background music to the advert but the advert is tailored around the song making it a music video. 

An example of this is Thomas Cook's 'Real Good Time' advert which is based around a section of Queen's 'Don't Stop me Know' but as the advert is a minute long it uses a small part of the video.

Another Example is TUI's advert which used the song 'Ain't Nobody' by Chaka Khan. TUI is about Holidays and booking the right holiday for you and how the company focuses on you. Throughout the video the main girl in it sings her own version of the song which makes it more of an music video.
