We discovered the same thing as we read The Troublemaker today. We think his hair looks the same, he seems to be the same size, his skin and his face look the same. We even noticed that his cheeks look the same. We also noticed that the boy from The Troublemaker lives in the country. Did he leave his home in the country to go visit his Nana in the City? We wonder??????

In our classroom 5 of us believe it is NOT the same boy. We think he just looks similar because Lauren Castillo is the illustrator for both books. We think the boy from The Troublemaker looks a little bit older. We also thought about Rascal. If it was the same boy we thought the boy would have taken Rascal with him to visit Nana.....We think he probably sleeps with Rascal especially when he feels scared. We wonder why Lauren Castillo did not mention the boys names. Did she want us to wonder if it is the same boy or not?

Our students also came up with the same question/observation. Some think it is the same boy and others think he is a completely different boy. Our groups plan to notice how Lauren Castillo draws boys in the other books she illustrates. So they want to find out if it is the same boy? Does she draw her boy characters the same or differently?
