         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Charter of Virginia Company of London was written by King James I of Britain. This document was written to authorize eight Englishmen to colonize Virginia. It also promised the first settlers "all liberties, franchises, and immunities" as if they were in England. The biggest impact of The Charters of the Virginia Company of London gave settlers the right to colonize Virginia, and the individual rights that King James I of England promised them inspired the principles outlined in the Bill of Rights. These rights also inspired the development of our system of "freedom under the law."</div>]]></description>

These documents gave permission from the king to build a colony in the New World, and in return for the permission, the settlers had to send some of their profits back to the king. This document guaranteed the settlers' rights to be the same as the English. The main impact of this document was that the settlers could begin&nbsp;settling the New World, which would become the US.</div>]]></description>
