Armando and Carmen Berriz were staying at their rental house enjoying family time with their daughter and son-in-law.
When fire broke out engulfing their homes they jumped in the pool for hours overnight fire all around them.
 
The fire started around 1 am "it was like an explosion it just lit up" said Luis Ocon their son-in-law. Monica (their daughter) and her husband ran to the car when fire started rising. Once, they made it in they realize her parents were left behind.

Armando and Monica quickly ran to the pool for shelter but the fire and smoke was too much for her.

Dave Halbur remembers it as a typical Sunday dinner with his folks.

We "had Chinese food and talked. It was a really nice evening," Halbur recalls.

The fire came through a few hours later in the early morning darkness. By Monday, Dave Halbur had heard nothing from his parents. LeRoy and Donna Halbur were both 80.
