Needless to say, inequality often comes with threats to the health and safety of the oppressed. BLM is an excellent example of this. The systemically based racial profiling that often takes place in law enforcement was a life threatening issue. As we saw during the peak of the movement in 2020, while light was shed, there was an astonishing amount of black citizens killed at the hands of those with strong biases. 
I chose to use the term 'activists' because it is a very broad term. Because this is such a broad image in the eye of social movement, there are a multitude of social locations that are members of this community.
