         <description><![CDATA[<div>Many chickens are becoming overweight. Breeders are overfeeding and breeding bigger chickens so they can supply the demand. Science daily states that, "But modern broiler/breeder chickens don't adequately balance their feed consumption to match their energy requirements. When these birds are given unrestricted access to feed, they will overeat and become obese." The chickens are left to constantly feed themselves and when they have lots of food, they will eat all of it. This is how farmers get lots of meat from their farms and it is being caused by breeding of massive chickens to create more massive chickens.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Mosquitoes</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Mosquitoes are being genetically changed by humans because of the Zika virus and other diseases. "One classic strategy for reducing insect populations has been to flood populations with sterile males– usually produced using irradiation. When females in the target population mate with these males, they produce no viable offspring – hopefully crashing population numbers." Us as humans are stopping the production of mosquitoes by changing their genes to make them sterile. This will reduce the mosquito population which will lead to less mosquitoes being infected with deadly virus.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Turkeys are being bred for one reason only, to increase size for consumption. "Today's big turkeys owe their large size to the incorporation of a special diet, vaccinations, and selective breeding. With selective breeding, also known as artificial selection, two members of the same species are bred to exploit desirable dominant characteristics — which they pass along to their offspring." Over 270 million turkeys are consumed over thanksgiving alone, with this much demand people need a way to supply it. We have created extra meaty turkeys to satisfy our needs.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Due to regulation only large fish may be kept. This means that people are only fishing for big fish which means that only the tiny fish are surviving. "Due to this the fish population are decreasing in size. Due to fishing regulations dictating that only the largest fish may be kept, humans are artificially selecting fish to produce smaller size fish." Fish that are small aren't allowed to be fished. By making smaller fish population sizes will increase.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>House birds are bred to have a nice singing voice, and to be able to sit on a person's shoulder. One article sates "breeders have taken a <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlantic_canary">fairly nondescript </a>bird with a nice singing voice, and created hundreds of varieties. Breeders can control everything from skeletal formation, feather number and hardness (very hard feathers, like those on the pictured bird, to <a href="http://www.vancouvercanaryclub.com/2008/03/24/standards-norwich-canary/">very soft fluffy feathers)</a>, to the length and style of the bird's song. Breeders even managed to create a fertile hybrid between the canary and the red siskin, introducing red feather coloration into the species". This quote means that breeders are trying to make birds to have a good singing voice and also other favorable traits.</div>]]></description>
