Tom&Sarah’s Journey

In the heart of Alaska, there was an old, abandoned bus. One day, Sarah and Tom met on this bus. Both were travelling alone, seeking new adventures. As they sat by the bus telling their experiences, a helicopter soared overhead, reminding them of the hectic world they had left behind. Sarah, a photographer, showed Tom images of her travels. One of the photographs had a road sign that said "Niland: 206 miles; Mexicali, Mexico: 263 miles." This sign indicated how far they had travelled. During their trek, they discovered an ancient, abandoned automobile in the desert. This car reminded them how long and difficult their journey had been. Later, they encountered two indigenous people. These villagers invited Sarah and Tom to their hamlet, where they learnt about traditional methods of living. Their journey led them to the mountains. They travelled across the cold and steep terrain, carrying hefty backpacks. It was a difficult voyage, but it brought them closer. One day, they encountered an elderly man who lived in a green bus. The elderly man recounted his life story with them, discussing his youth, love, and grief. Sarah and Tom realised that their journey was more than just getting to the destination; it was also about the people they met and the experiences they experienced. Finally, they returned to their old bus in Alaska. They had already become friends as a result of their shared experiences. The bus, which had formerly represented solitude, had evolved into a symbol of connection and discovery. As the sun sank, Sarah and Tom realised their paths would soon diverge. But they were also aware that their stories were now entwined, irrevocably linked by their adventure. The time they spent together would become one of their most treasured memories.

Marco had a dream, the kind which follows you from childhood, the one you used to write in your diary and tell to your teacher: he wanted to travel the world.

His sister had never understood, they were from a small town in Mexico, her dream was the city; Marco could not imagine a worse fate.

Now, three months after their mothers' death, Marco was ready to go, a photo of him and his sister safe in his pocket.

He sat on an abandoned sofa on the side of the road, waving hands at passerby cars to hopefully get to the airport in time for stop number one: Africa.

He had never been on a plane before, there was an odd feeling in his gut, a mix of fear and excitement. He clutched tightly at his and his sisters photo before boarding the plane. A bus he had rented was waiting for him at the airport.

He had spent his whole life saving for this trip. No time to look back, he thought. He spent his mornings driving around and his afternoons walking to explore the area. He would return just before sunset and sit next to his bus, staring at the beautiful landscape in front of him as the glowing sun slowly disappeared.

He spent around a month in Africa before running into a tribe of cannibals on one of his walks. Three men with spears.

Marco knew, of course, in a single glance that they were trouble. He did not need trouble.

He ran back to his bus and drove away, called for the helicopter also previously rented which took him back to the airport. Before riding it, he turned around to look at the gushing nature before him one last time, the weight of his backpack grounding him. He pulled out the picture from his pocket, staring at the image of him and his sister, they were each others only family left, now.

Yes, that was enough of Africa for now.

The next stop was the Swiss Alps, where he spent days in the mountain trails. The heat had never been a problem in Africa, Marco was used to it but the cold. Oh he could not handle the cold.

Though the towering mountains were a nice change of pace from Africa, with their snow kissed paths and the pine trees just begging for one to be lost in them: Marco missed the heat. So, he thought as he finally texted his sister back, time to go.

Afterwards there was northern US, hotter than the Alps but not by much, where he spent his time trying to hunt a wild boar.

Then he swam in the Mediterranean Sea and saw the Great Wall of China but none of them were enough.

In every place he went he found something that he did not like, something that made him want to leave. Every time before doing so, he would look at a photo of his sister.

It finally clicked when he was in the Caribbean, it was his sister, he missed his sister.

Traveling the world had been fun and all but his dreams had always included a certain someone too.

Yes, it was time to go home. Home was Africa, or the Alps, or the USA or the Mediterranean, or China. It wasn't even Mexico, it was his sister.

He stared at the photo one last time before arranging his flight back home.

His sister greeted him at the airport and pulled him into a bone crushing hug. They spent the night, catching each other up on their lives. She mentioned a boyfriend, he told her about the Caribbean.

"Take me sometime," she said.

He nodded as the calming hug that was sleep slowly pulled him towards itself, a smile on his face.

Home, family, sister... It was the same thing, really.

The man had left everything behind and fled to the nature with his friends. He had a great future waiting ahead of him. But instead he chose to explore the wild nature and see the world without any human contact. It was a regular Saturday morning when tom decided, He did not want to pursue law. He wanted to see what nature offered him. So he packed his bags of all his belongings and resources essential for survival and jumped into his van. He quickly drove over to his friend who also didn’t want to pursue in a education snd job but instead live freely and go into the wild. So he packed his bags aswell and they set on to their third and final friends house. They begged and pleaded until the third friend eventually agreed aswell. So they were locked and loaded for the most wild and exciting adventure of their lives. As soon as they left the city they began to see the real beauty of nature and what it presented for them. They eventually found a spot to rest after tirelessly driving for hours nonstop. At this time their family and friends started to catch on what was happening. They immidieatly filed a missing person report for each of them to find where they had gone. It was at this time when the three friends realized they didn’t bring any maps or compasses with them and at that time their cellphones were only capable of calling people and recording messages. The three friends didn’t care though. They were determined to continue their passion. Nothing could stop them from doing whatever they liked to do. By this time it was already dark outside. One of the friends offered to go abd collect some woods from the forest to start a campfire. The van didn’t have any heater so they were freezing. Their coats were barely able to warm them in any way so they agreed. The friend left the van and dissapeared into the daarkness. It was only a couple hours later when they noticed they haven't heard or seen anything from their friend who went and never came back. They weren’t so confident anymore. They were terrified of thinking what could have happened to their friend who went into the dark forest all by himself. They regretted sending him alone into such a dark and quiet forest without asking him if he had everything he needed to survive out there alone. They were too cold to think straight. They eventually fell asleep knowing their friend might never see them again. As the sun set, the two friends decided to look for their missing friend. They searched and searched but nothing was out there. They couldn't go any farther than half a kilometer in fear of being lost and facing the same fate as their friend. As they came back to their van sad and without any hope, they decided to continue knowing if their friend didn't show up in 12 hours than it was most likely something bad happened to him. So they started driving again. They drove in a straight line for 4 more hours until the van stopped suddenly. It was at this point they realized the van had run out of fuel and they didnt bring any extra with them. They had forgot the broken ac on and finished their fuel way earlier than expected. At this point the friends were in such a bad condition they wanted to go back. But it was too late. They were too far out from the city with no navigation. They left the van in a horrible condition and started walking. They walked until they heard a noise coming from the forest. It sounded like a bear and it was loud. The friends froze in place by the shock and before they could comprehend anything the bear attacked the second friend. The man tried to get the bear of his friend but it was no avail. The man realized if he didn’t leave the area soon he would end up in the same fate so he ran and ran with all his belongings on his back killing him slowly but be wasn't dying anytime soon. The man ran until he stopped hearing any sound. As soon as the man stopped he fainted and fell to the ground. When he woke up he was in a school bus in the middle of nowhere still in shock he tried to get up but he was too tired. Thats when a girl came up to him and asked him if he was okay. He said he was fine but he was traumatized for life. He missed his family and friends and now he was in a strangers bus in the middle of nowhere. It was now when he realized he had a flare gun. He pointed it up in the sky and waited for a plane or helicopter to pass by. He waited for hours until it finally happened. A helicopter passed by and saw his flare. It was over. The man was saved. He then thanked the hitchhiker girl for saving his life. If it wasn't for her he would have bled out from his wounds. He then returned home safely in distress and spread his story of him and his friends. The End
