Such a fab teacher!

I am extremely grateful to have been taught by Mel this year. Although this has not been the year we had imagined, Mel has worked extremely hard to get as many resources as possible up for us and as given us the best structure to make our lives as easy as possible. Mel has always delivered each session with a smile and I always feel very calm and reassured afterwards. Thank you very much Mel.

Support and enthusiasm

Bit of a rocky start but once things started to get going mel has been really supportive and enthusiastic throughout all of our sessions. I appreciate how hard it is for both teachers and students to change their lives to fit online learning especially with a young child herself. Mel has done a great job!

Genuine Care and Passion

Yes, I agree this Semester started off very difficult and with much unease with the strikes and Covid-19. However, Mel was keen to take on feedback from students on immediate needs and support for the module. Tutorials were always so helpful and I could tell Mel was really invested an excited in my plan for the assignment. Despite the challenges of lockdown Mel has made sure to give time to students for tutorials and to provide resources and google meets to discuss popular topics. I have actually had a lot of fun completing this assignment and I feel it has pushed me to research into topics previously I would of never considered such as adult play. This module allows for flexibility and for each assignment to be individual and unique whilst still meeting the assignment criteria. It is a shame to have not got the chance to do our placement observations, but I have found that the chance to use my own observations from home made it much more personal (this would be a great addition to next year).

Thank you Mel. I've had a fab time and have thoroughly enjoyed exploring play from a multi-disciplinary lens. This is such a great module for 3rd years!

More taught sessions

Although it was great to have a chance to discuss and debate concepts. It would be great to have some more taught content for example the main avenues for each section which you have put in the workbook for next year. Then students can pick and choose if they wish to use your example or find their own

Minerva Layout

Sometimes the layout of resources on Minerva was a bit confusing. An example being Week 10. Observation guidance could be better found in the Assessment tab.

Personal observations

Although this became in place due to restrictions of Covid-19 I felt using observations of friends, myself etc made my assignment more personal . I feel this would be a great option even if the module is able to continue how it was intended.
