In today's lesson, we produced a basic paper airplane using standard A4 paper. The technique involved folding the corners to the centerline for a sharp nose and ensuring symmetrical wing alignment. To deal with the problems, I adjusted the wing angle to body structure to enhance balance. I found it fascinating because the symmetrical wings in the first attempt ensured a stable flight trajectory. It was useful to learn how to optimize

Polish photographer Iness Rychlik has profoundly impacted the art world with her striking self-portraits and surreal visual language. Her seminal series, including "The Aftermath," "Resilience," and "Broken Dolls," transcend traditional photographic boundaries, transforming the lens into a scalpel that dissects the psyche. Her work transcends mere aesthetic expression, manifesting as a ritualistic confrontation with trauma. Through the reconstruction of conflict-laden memories, she employs symbolic elements such as bandage-wrapped bodies, shattered mirrors, and distorted masks to materialize deep-seated fears, repression, and rebirth. In the interplay of light and shadow between reality and illusion, she constructs visually arresting and thought-provoking allegories.

The profound impact of Iness's work stems from her unflinchingly raw exploration of human vulnerability. In a particularly controversial series, she simultaneously embodies both aggressor and victim, reenacting intense childhood confrontations with her ailing mother. This courageous public exposure of private trauma not only challenges viewers' psychological defenses but also disrupts the artistic convention of aestheticizing suffering. Her surrealist approach does not constitute an escape from reality but rather imbues trauma with new meaning: the bandages enveloping the head symbolize repressed thoughts, while the faint glimmers in the darkness represent inextinguishable hope.

This compels me to reflect on my own creative journey: whereas I once sought to isolate familial conflicts within a kaleidoscope of fantasy, Iness confronts scars directly through her lens, transforming pain into creative fuel. Her works function as sharp prisms, refracting the dynamic essence of identity – we are not static entities defined by fixed labels but rather beings in constant flux, perpetually tearing and suturing to reshape self-perception. Through Iness's lens, trauma ceases to be a shackle confining the soul but becomes a starting point for self-reconstruction. This potent creative philosophy offers a groundbreaking interpretation of the symbiotic relationship between art and healing.

Identity is a representative of a person's overall and characteristics, in today's society and social is essential, identity is not only the expression of the style characteristics of artists and designers, but also the unique charm of the inner soul, they can create a unique artistic style according to their own definition to infect others, help others also be more clear about their identity, so I agree with the view that identity is important for artists and designers.

The first reason is that the establishment of identity is to have a more accurate understanding of their own value and mission, artists and designers when they have an identity, the artworks they create will always affect the thinking and reflection of the people and society, because the different concepts expressed by the artworks remind everyone at all times, so that the society is moving towards a more civilized track.

Secondly, people can resonate with their identity, to understand the pain and happiness experienced by each other, and artists and designers are expanding this kind of perception into visual, auditory, olfactory, etc. So that more people benefit from the edification of art and the ability to appreciate art.

Finally, artists have unique insights to show their own identity, so as to form the values that society needs to maintain the development and prosperity of art.

To conclude, I think the importance of identity is one of them, but more important is the soul of the artist, and the ideas and resonances he conveys to everyone.

Weekly Reflection – Writing Skills

When writing this week, I find it easier to write about familiar daily life topics. My thoughts flow smoothly, and I can write relatively fast. Writing about professional theoretical analysis is hard. For example, when I need to explain complex academic concepts, I don't know where to start. To begin writing, I mainly use outlines prepared in advance to organize my thoughts. I also read relevant good sample essays to get inspiration. The hardest part of writing is controlling language accuracy. I always feel the meaning I express is different from what I think in my mind.

The topics I find easy to write show I have some accumulation and understanding in familiar areas. I can handle them well. The difficult parts mean I may not have enough professional knowledge. My language skills also need improvement. Sometimes I think if I don't solve these problems, it will be even harder when I face professional writing tasks in the future. It will be tough to improve my overall writing level.

I have some ways to solve the above problems. In the future, I will read more professional books and articles to increase my knowledge. To deal with the language accuracy problem, I will practice vocabulary and sentence structure every day. I will ask professionals to review my essays. I will use their feedback to keep improving.

In this week's class, when the teacher asks questions related to my recent self - study and interests, I speak fast and answer them. For example, when we discuss the plot interpretation of a classic literary work, maybe it's because I just read relevant analysis articles, so I have things to say. But when the questions are about complex grammar problems and language differences, I may choose to be silent because I'm not clear about the vocabulary.

Self - confidence comes from fully mastering knowledge. When I can clearly organize my thoughts and have clear opinions, I'm not afraid. The nervousness mainly comes from not knowing if the answer is right and fearing embarrassment in front of classmates. Being able to answer smoothly is because of daily knowledge accumulation. What stops me is the knowledge blind spots and the fear of giving wrong answers.

Actively answering familiar questions shows the benefits of interest and accumulation. Avoiding difficult questions means there are holes in the knowledge system. There is also a mindset of not daring to challenge and being afraid of making mistakes.

When I learn to write in English, I have many problems. These problems make it hard for me to express myself. They also make me less confident about my writing.

My biggest problem is that I don't know enough words. I know what many words mean. But when I write, I can't think of the right words. Because of this, my sentences are boring or not clear. I also don't know the differences between similar words very well. So I often use the wrong words.

Grammar is a big problem for me, too. English tenses, voices, and sentence structures are very different from Chinese ones. I check my writing, but I still sometimes don't see my mistakes.

I need to make my writing better organized. In my essays, there are no sentences to connect ideas or paragraphs. My writing seems all over the place. I need to learn how to connect sentences.

I have a plan to fix these problems. I will read more English articles to learn new words. I will practice grammar more. I will also look at how good essays are written and put together.

Identity connection

This sculpture inspires me. The true self takes courage to accept being imperfect. It means facing desire, fear, and ideals. It means trying to find balance in contradictions. Each part of the self shows struggles, perseverance, and every breath. These are real expressions. Pressure hits daily life energy. It keeps people struggling. It makes us admit we are not completely good.

Identity connection

I deeply relate to Su Lizhen's experience. In today's society, everyone spends their whole life struggling with themselves. We all play different roles, like being the "sensible child at home." When roles from others clash with our inner selves, we start to wonder if we are living up to others’ expectations or hiding our real selves. About emotions, we often shift real feelings to avoid relationship failures. We hide our real selves for a long time. But finally, we can see our true selves by balancing love and restraint.
