To start writing Sci fi

First of all Sci fi doesn't mean that it has to be star wars level of world building and futuristic gadgets, it could just be a flying car and bam you are into scifi territory, it just has to involve the future and something fictional at the time, so the book and movie the Martian is a Sci fi book even though it's almost a reality

The easiest way to write a Sci fi piece is to just ask what is earth like in 100 years?

Is the earth a perfect utopia or more blown up, or is it just like today but with better technology? In any case come up with literally anything that's more technologically advanced than what we have currently

What are some writing details for Sci fi

1. Setting the setting can be a few things but most common are the earth I'm the distant future an alien planet or something very old in a galaxy far away

2.the catalyst could and should be anything you are in the future with infinite possibilities a wormhole could open up to another dimension or something dumb like that

3.foreshadowing in Sci FIS is a tricky because you can only say so much, however one of my personal favorite examples from the book enders game is just a game the main character plays, that tells us some of the things that will happen to ender in the future

4.the conflict could be any option as well though I tend to prefer person v person or person v society

5.the antagonist and protagonist in Sci fis can be more on the gray side if you want or make it black and white the story is entirely up to you

6. The climax typically is a fight scene of some kind, like in the movie blade runner the climax is the cop fighting an android

7.resolution isn't typically the hero coming out on top with an absolute victory more often than not its ambiguous, the story has lots of loose ends but the reader just happy that the main character is alive like in Fahrenheit 451
