La nutrición heterótrofa se realiza cuando un organismo va consumiendo materia orgánica ya formada. En este tipo de nutrición no hay transformación de materia inorgánica en materia orgánica.


Sin embargo, la nutrición heterótrofa transforma los elementos orgánicos en materia celular propia.
