What emotion does Prospero convey in this monologue? What lines express these emotions most strongly? (lines 33-94)

The emotion that I see portrayed the most in the monologue is dark. This is expressed most in the lines where Prospero says "I’ve shaken up the sturdy cliffs and uprooted pines and cedars; I’ve opened up graves and awakened the corpses sleeping in them, letting them out with my powerful magic." and "I’ve darkened the noontime sun with the aid of you elves who live in the hills and brooks and groves."

In this monologue, Prospero casts a dark spell on his conspirators. He then goes on to speak of morbid things like people in their graves, uprooting cedars, and shaking cliffs. After this, Prospero says he will break and bury his wand after he has cast this spell. Then he confronts Sebastian, Gonzalo, and Antonio for what they've done to him. Then whilst the spell is wearing off Prospero asks Ariel to fetch the clothes that he used to wear in

Why does Prospero forgive the conspirators?

Prospero forgives his conspirators for many reasons. Prospero forgives his brother due to Ariel's advice. This persuades him to reconcile instead of seek revenge. Ferdinand and Miranda's marriage also cause Prospero to have to forgive. If his daughter is to be wed to Ferdinand, it is only right for Prospero to forgive Ferdinand's father, Alonso. This also allows Prospero a way back into Milan. By acting as the nice guy, not seeking revenge and by letting Miranda marry Ferdinand, Prospero will get back into Milan where he will be apart of the royal family. This means he can also try to regain his position as duke. Finally, Prospero forgives Caliban because he tidies up Prospero's room for him. These are the main points to why Prospero took the route of forgiving his conspirators instead of seeking revenge on the

The idea of forgiveness relates to my section in many ways. First off, in my section Prospero forgives his conspirators. The people who kicked that kicked him out of Milan now sit down with prospero while he shares with them what his life has been like on the island. Also, Prospero forgives Caliban. This seems like one of the greatest feats of forgiveness Prospero performed because Caliban tried to rape Prospero's only daughter, Miranda.
