In 1846 Elias Howe patented the first practical sewing machine. It attracted little attention, and he moved to England to perfect it. When he returned the next year, he found that a man named I.M. Singer was making and selling his sewing machine. Howe sued him and won, establishing his patent rights in 1854, and his invention revolutionized the garment industry.

John Deere is an American inventor, most known for his creation and developments of agricultural machines. He was born on February 7, 1804, in Rutland, VT. Deere determined that the wood and cast-iron plow in use at the time was problematic to the challenges presented by the soil, so after some experimentation he crafted a new kind of plow and sold his first one in 1838. He had devised 10 improved plows by the following year, and 40 more the year after that. By 1857, his annual output of plows was 10,000. By 1868, Deere and his partners incorporated, founding Deere & Company. By 2012, the company's worth had climbed to more than $40 billion. Deere died on May 17, 1886.

Source- https://www.biography.com/inventor/john-deere

Samuel Slater was an English businessman, most known for founding the American textile industry. He was born on June 9, 1768 in Belper, Derbyshire. He immigrated to the United States in 1789, met the requirements there for workers skilled in the
manufacturing of cotton. He was forced to keep his knowledge and skills a secret from authorities, however, because at the time emigration of textile workers and the export of drawings of textile machinery were forbidden by British law. With his detailed knowledge of textile machinery, financial backing from the Rhode Island firm of Almy and Brown, and the assistance of skilled artisans, he constructed versions of Arkwright’s spinning and carding machinery and established the first successful cotton mill in the United States. He then established a number of other plants in New England and founded the town of Slatersville, Rhode Island.
