This hadith is found in both the Sahih Al-Bukhari and the Sahih Muslim collections.^[2] It has been named "Hadith Jibril" by Islamic scholars because the archangel Gabriel appears to Muhammad and those around him in a human form.

The structure of Islam, Iman, and Ihsan is mentioned in Hadith Jibril. This hadith is considered by many Muslim scholars as to the most important hadith in understanding the basis of Islam as a religion (Al-Din). This is because, at the end of the Hadith, Prophet MuÍammad S.A.W. clarified that the questioner was Jibril A.S. who came to teach the Sahabat about the religion. Thus, this Hadith is later known as Hadith Jibril. 

On the authority of Amir Al-Mu’minin (the Commander of the Faithful), Abu Hafs ‘Umar Ibn Al-Khattab RA, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah SWT said:

“Actions are but by intentions and every man shall have only that which he intended. Thus he whose migration (Hijrah to Madeenah from Makkah) was for Allah SWT and His Messenger, his migration was for Allah SWT and His Messenger, and he whose migration was to achieve some worldly benefit or to take some woman in marriage, his migration was for that for which he migrated."

A virtuous intention is the source of all goodness. The heart is where intentions are formed. Hence as the heart and mind are interconnected, what we intend will influence our thoughts and then our actions. The heart has such a significant influence on our body and more on our intentions. Hence, it is vital that we ensure our hearts are in a ‘healthy’ state as we set our intentions to avoid pursuing any actions or goals that may harm ourselves and others.

Indeed, when we are aware of the intentions of our actions and goals, it helps us to be objective. Our intentions help direct us on what needs to be done and how things should be done. This reflects our principles and values. For Muslims, being conscious of God is one of the ways to ensure our intentions are pure. It is natural that we only act upon something that brings benefit and comfort to others, and not otherwise.

There is a sentence that said, "Muslim multiple intentions for every action for maximum benefits." The Muslim scholars would perform a single action for which they would have many intentions so that they could be rewarded abundantly for every intention. It is due to this that one of them said, “The intention reaches further than the action.” There's a list of intentions for different actions, with each action paired with many intentions. For example, if you plan to help people and fulfill their needs, you may have the following intentions:

1 - To obey the command of the Prophet SAW,
2 - So that Allah SWT, Most High, may come to your 
      assistance,
3 - To follow the Prophet SAW,
4 - To bring joy and happiness to them,
5 - To be humble,
6 - So that Allah SWT may allow others to assist you and 
      fulfill your needs.

"(O Prophet), recite the Book that has been revealed to you and establish Prayer. Surely Prayer forbids indecency and evil. And Allah's remembrance is of even greater merit. Allah knows all that you do."

"O Believers! Fasting is enjoined upon you, as it was enjoined upon those before you, that you become God-fearing."

"Take, [O, Muhammad], from their wealth a charity by which you purify them and cause them increase, and invoke [ Allah 's blessings] upon them. Indeed, your invocations are reassurance for them. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing."

"The months of Hajj are well known. Whoever intends to perform Pilgrimage in these months shall abstain from sensual indulgence, wicked conduct, and quarreling; and whatever good you do, Allah knows it. Take your provisions for the Pilgrimage; but, in truth, the best provision is piety. Men of understanding, beware of disobeying Me."

Imam Ibn Rajab Al-Hanbali Rahimahullah gave an interesting definition of khusyu', stating: "The origin of khusyu' comes from the softness of the heart, the calm and submissive state of one's heart."

- Present the heart when praying is like being in the presence of Allah S.W.T. 

- Full of manners, courteous before Allah S.W.T.

- Not remembering the affairs of the world.

1. Khusyu' & Wudhu'

- Linguistically it means cleanliness and excellence.

- In terms of Shari'a, it is to purify certain parts of the body with water to make them clean and to remove the judgment of 'minor impurity" (hadath) from them to permit acts of worship which are forbidden by lack of purity. 

- A person of Muslim faith is supposed to perform a ritual washing of their bodies before praying to get rid of these minor impurities.

 2. Fulfill the Prayer Requirements

 - The principle of salah is to ensure Muslims maintain their faith and devotion to Allah SWT, to increase taqwa (closeness to Allah SWT) and to remain conscious of the importance of faith and submission to their Creator. For example :

- Allah S.W.T. says in Surah Al-A'raf, verse 31: " 0 Son of Adam! Wear your best and most beautiful clothes when you enter the mosque." 

 3. Implement All of the Pillars of Prayer 

- In order for the salah to be valid, the pillars must be implemented. 
- The salah is rendered invalid if any pillar is left out for whatever reason, not even the prostration of forgetfulness because it can compensate for the omission of a pillar. 
- The pillar has to be done or the salah has to be repeated, even if a long time passes. 
- Sujuud as-Sahw or Prostration of forgetfulness are the two prostrations made at the end of the prayer to compensate for mistakes done within the prayer. This does not apply to the pillars.

It is sharia laws revealed by Allah as a blessing for His servants. It aims to avoid certain rituals in Islam from being ignored and merely skipped. 

An accountable Muslim is demanded to perform the decreed laws and it differs from executional aspect according to condition and situation faced by them. Rukhsah depends on the difficulty faced by involved person. 

Forms of critical situation include rukhsah implementation involving sickness preventing prayer from being performed normally, travel good intention, continuous rainfall, rescue of flood victims, flight an extinguishment of critical fire.

At-Tatawwu', or Nawafil or Supererogatory Prayers, have been legislated to make up for any deficiencies left in the performance of Fard Salah, or Obligatory Prayers. In Salah, there are virtues that are not found in any other forms of worship.

Abu Hurairah reports that the Prophet Muhammad S.A.W. said: The first thing that the people will be called to account for on the Day of Resurrection will be the prayers. Our Lord will say to the angels although He knows better: 'Look into the salah of my servant to see if he observed it perfectly or been negligent in it. So if he observed it perfectly it will be recorded to his credit, but if he had been negligent in it in any way, Allah would say: See if My servant has any supererogatory prayers. Then if he has any supererogatory prayers, Allah would say: Make up the deficiency in My servant's obligatory prayer with his supererogatory prayers.' Thereafter all his actions will be examined in like manner." (Abu Dawud).

Beware! There is a piece of flesh in the body if it becomes good (reformed) the whole body becomes good but if it gets spoilt the whole body gets spoilt and that is the heart.
