         <title>Baking Soda and Vinegar</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Chemical Equation: CH3COOH + NaHCO3 = CH3COONa + CO2 + H2O. Or, baking soda+vinegar=carbon dioxide.<br>In the video, baking soda and vinegar are being combined, a chemical reaction occurs and the result is a fizzing concoction, or carbon dioxide. One very clear chemical reaction indicator demonstrated by this video is fizzing, or effervescence. This is shown as soon as the baking soda is combined with the vinegar, as the mixture immediately starts fizzing. The fizzing is really carbon dioxide being created.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Chemical Formula: 3 NaHCO3 + C6H8O7 = 3 CO2 + C6H5Na3O7 + 3 H2O.<br>In the video, a bath bomb made out of baking soda and citric acid, is dropped into water. This results in a chemical reaction, one of the ways we know this is as soon as the bath bomb was dropped into water, it started fizzing and bubbling. Those fizz and bubbles were carbon dioxide gas.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Chemical Equation: C2H4 + 3O2 = 2CO2 + 2H20.<br>In the picture, a rotten banana is displayed. This is an example of a chemical reaction. The reaction occurs when ethylene, a gas that causes fruit to ripen, reacts with oxygen in the ari. This reaction forms carbon dioxide and water, which then make the fruit ripen, and eventually rot. An indicator of this chemical reaction is aroma. For example, a new fresh banana has a smell very different than that of a rotten old banana.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Chemical Equation: Fe + O<sub>2</sub> + H<sub>2</sub>O = Fe<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub>. XH<sub>2</sub>O<br>In the picture, there is an image of a rusty nail. That nail is now a reddish-brown color, however it used to be shiny and silver. This is an indicator of a chemical reaction. The chemical reaction that took place was rust, this occured when the oxygen in the air reacted with the iron in the nail, resulting in iron oxides, or oxidation, on the surface of the nail, which then changed the color.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Fall Leaves</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Chemical Formula: I could not find it.<br>In cold temperatures, trees stop providing water to their leaves, the loss of water then prevents the leaves from performing photosynthesis. This results in a loss of synthesis of chlorophyll, which is responsible for the green color of the leaves. The leaves are then forced to change color, which is an indication of the chemical reaction that occured. In the picture below, different colored leaves are portrayed, these leaves recently went through the chemical reaction described above.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Chemical Equation: 2KNO3 + S + 3C = K2S + N2 + 3CO2<br>An example of a chemical reaction that occurs during fireworks is combustion. Combustion in fireworks happens when the flame in the fireworks fuse reacts with the black powder, resulting in combined  potassium nitrate,  charcoal and sulfur. This is an exothermic reaction, meaning that it produces heat. This is one of the indicators of the chemical reaction. In the video, a firework is in the air, and a chemical reaction is shone.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Chemical Equation: C<sub>6</sub>H<sub>12</sub>O<sub>6</sub> → 2 C<sub>2</sub>H<sub>5</sub>OH + 2 CO.<br>When grape juice goes through the process of fermentation, it turns into wine. Fermentation is a chemical reaction in which simple sugars are turned into ethyl alcohol, and carbon dioxide is formed as a result. An indicator of this chemical reaction is aroma, as grape juice smells very different from alcoholic wine. In the video below, wine is shown being made, during this process is where the chemical reaction occurs.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Hard Boiling an Egg</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Chemical Equation: CaO (s) + H2O (l) → Ca(OH)2 (s) <br>When an egg is hard boiled, the hydrogen sulfide created by heating the egg reacts with some of the iron in the egg yolk. This then creates a gray-green ring around the yolk. An indicator of this chemical reaction is temperature, as the egg changes substances, the temperature of the egg also changes. In the picture below, there is a hard-boiled egg with a ring around the yolk, this demonstrates the chemical reaction that occured when the egg was put in boiling water.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Baking a Cake</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Chemical Equation: (NaHCO<sub>3</sub>) = (Na<sub>2</sub>CO<sub>3</sub>)<br>The chemical reaction of baking a cake occurs when the cakes ingredients are mixed together and put in the oven at a certain heat. In the oven, the baking soda of the cake breaks down to form sodium carbonate and carbon dioxide. This is what makes the cake fluffy. The heat also results in the formation of new bonds of the protein molecules in the egg yolk. When the cake is taken out of the oven, it is an entirely different substance than what it was when it was put into the oven. This is an indicator of a chemical reaction. In the picture below, there is a before and after image of when a cake was put into an oven. It is clear to see that the cake completely changed substances. </div>]]></description>

When silver nitrate and sodium chloride are combined in water, a chemical reaction occurs. The precipitate of silver chloride is an indicator of this chemical reaction. In the video below, the chemical reaction is being demonstrated as the compounds are combined.</div>]]></description>

This chemical reaction occurs when the minerals in hard water are combined and reacts with soap molecules. This forms a precipitate called soap scum. This precipitate is one of the indicators that the creation of soap scum is a chemical reaction. In the picture below, soap scum is displayed, having just underwent the chemical reaction.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Chemical Equation: C12H22O11 + H2SO4 = 12C + 11H2O<br>This chemical reaction happens when ordinary sugar is combined with concentrated sulfuric acid. In the exothermic reaction, the sulfuric acid removes the water found in the sugar, resulting in heat, steam, and other fumes. The reaction also results in an entirely new substance, with the white sugar turning into a black carbonized tube. The new substance is just one of the many indicators of this chemical reaction. In the video below, the experiment is being performed and the formation of the new substance is shown. <br><br></div>]]></description>
