James Dasher in the exposition for The Death Cure is Thomas the protagonist is trying to escape Wicked after refusing to get his memories back. Though Jansen the antagonist (also the Wicked director) is trying to get him his memories back . Which also helps make the conflict that when Thomas escaped Wicked had to search for him. Since they were trying to find a cure for a disease called the Flare thats turning people crazy and making them kill other people and eat them.  Wicked knows that Thomas isn't safe so they try to find him which  frces Thomas to try and escape from Wicked. And

Thomas and his friends go to a city.
