Fact 2:Middle Kingdom pharaohs strengthened their borders by building fortresses in the western and eastern delta to keep out invading Libyans and peoples of the Levant, respectively.

Fact 1:The New Kingdom, often called the “Empire Age,” began with the Eighteenth Dynasty, famous for such fascinating rulers as Hatshepsut and Amenhotep III.

Fact 2:Amenhotep III ruled Egypt for nearly four decades, until his death around 1352 BCE at the age of 48. When he became pharaoh, he inherited a wealthy, powerful state, in part due to the military success of his grandfather, Tuthmoses III.

Fact 1:The Assyrians invaded Egypt in 663 BCE. They drove out the Nubians and then, distracted by troubles at home, they left Egypt to its own devices. Fact This revival did not last long.
