During editing, I increased the depth of field to highlight the rock stack sharply while keeping the background gently blurred. Slight tonal adjustments were applied to bring out earthy textures and enhance the calm, grounded feeling of the scene.

This photograph showcases the art of light painting against a forest backdrop. The creative aspect is the glowing circular symbol created using a handheld light during a long exposure shot, producing a mystical and otherworldly aura. In post-processing, I deepened the shadows to make the glyph stand out more vividly, giving the illusion of a hidden ritual or forest spell.

"Skyletters" plays with the concept of writing in the sky using light. The creativity here stems from turning invisible gestures into visible words floating in space. Using long exposure, I moved a light source to “write” the letters while keeping the stars in the background intact. In editing, I slightly enhanced the brightness of the light strokes and reduced noise in the night sky to maintain clarity and contrast, making the light letters appear as if they are part of the cosmos.

This photo captures the subtle dance of nature—what seems like a "breath" spiraling upward into the sky, likely a flock of birds or bats in formation. The creative element is the natural curve of the airborne trail that gives the illusion of an exhale from the forest itself. In editing, I enhanced the sky’s clarity by increasing vibrancy and used selective contrast to bring out the texture in the cliffs and trees without overpowering the soft detail of the airborne formation.

This waterfall feels like a secret revealed only to those who look closely. The creativity lies in framing the falls so that the thick greenery almost conceals it, creating a sense of discovery and awe. I adjusted the lighting slightly to highlight the cascading water to give a lush, immersive jungle feel. The natural mist was left untouched to preserve authenticity and mood.

This charming still life creates a storybook scene with two figurines seemingly enjoying a quiet moment by the window. The creativity is in the storytelling composition—positioning the characters to look like they're sharing thoughts or watching the world. I used a high ISO and narrow aperture to ensure sharp detail in low light. In editing, I slightly warmed the tones and boosted saturation to bring out the cozy atmosphere and emphasize the playful colors in the background decor.

“Frog on the Fringe” captures a whimsical moment where a cartoonish frog statue sits in an urban setting, slightly surreal yet grounded in reality. The creativity is in placing a fantastical object in a real-world context, creating visual tension and humor. During editing, I balanced the exposure and adjusted the Vignette to preserve the evening glow of the streetlights and subtly boosted the saturation of the frog to make it pop against the dim surroundings without losing the ambient twilight feel.

This photo captures a quiet, melancholic scene—a solitary bicycle leaning against a wall beneath a stark streetlamp. The creativity lies in the minimalist composition and the emotional atmosphere it conveys: solitude, stillness, and a quiet narrative. The play between the “One Way” sign and the empty bike hints at choices or departures. I used a high ISO to accommodate the low-light condition and also applied a render filter during editing. This added a subtle grainy texture and light diffusion effect, which amplified the cinematic quality of the image. The filter helped create a slight glow around the streetlamp and softened harsh shadows, making the scene feel like a moment suspended in time—almost dreamlike or pulled from a nostalgic film. A touch of vignette was added to focus the viewer’s attention on the central vertical lines and the subtle shadows.

“The Rocky Embrace” shows the merging of natural textures—water flowing over a bed of round stones with people wading through, embraced by surrounding greenery. The creativity here is in the framing: capturing both the powerful stillness of the rocks and the life flowing between them. I chose a wide aperture to give a deeper field and emphasize foreground detail while preserving background clarity. During editing, I enhanced contrast and sharpened the rocks slightly to accentuate texture, while keeping the people naturally lit and unobtrusive, blending human presence into the landscape’s rhythm.

Leading Lines + Vertical Framing + Low Angle Perspective

  I used the tall, vertical trees as leading lines, naturally drawing the viewer’s eye upward into the night sky. When I first signed up for this course, I had no idea how much this journey would mean to me. What started as a simple interest quickly became a deeper appreciation for the beauty around us — the light, the shadows, the emotions frozen in time.

Throughout this course, I’ve learned far more than just how to use a camera. I’ve learned about composition, lighting, angles, timing, and the art of storytelling through photographs. More importantly, I’ve learned to slow down, to observe, and to see — truly see — the world around me in ways I never did before.
