The Whites were superior to the natives and not all of them looked at the natives as human beings. Therefore, they did not need a name. Having fun, and to ‘play house’ with the natives is a quite common practise for young guys in the colony, to have fun, or for Guy, to avoid being alone. But he knows it’s only temporary for him.  He needs to find a white, british woman with the same cultural heritage as himself.
