One of the main leaders was Sir Thomas Stanford Bingly Raffles who made the agreement for Singapore to be under the British. He had a big vision and wanted to change it all. When he gave his vision over to William Farquhar, Opium still spread around but things changed; he managed to attract traders and tourists, giving more income to the government and he let Singapore do what Singapore does.
