First we had to ask ourselves, What are we trying to solve? The question was how can we make a bridge that allows boats to go under and make it big enough to connect two cities.

Then we had to think of some ideas. We decided to build a beam bridge because it was the easiest and most efficient to build with the amterials we were provided.

We did have some issues when building this bridge though at first we all disagreed on what type of bridge we should build but then we all came to the conclusion that a beam bridge would be the most efficient. The criteria we had to meet was the bridge had to be atleast 12 inches long witha width of 3 inches and had to be able to hold pennies above it. The hardest part was making the bridge strong enough also being able to fit boats underneath. The constraints were only using 4 sheets of paper and 2 feet of masking tape.

Our model was a beam bridge and we made the middle beam the thickest in hopes of it being the strongest. The test results turned out to be pretty sucessful and more sucsesful than we thought. The penny stack we got 15 and the penny spread we had 102.
