Over the past six years, I have been actively involved in various voluntary activities. I'm taking this course to enhance my skills and approach volunteering more professionally.

I am looking forward to gaining insights into the not-for-profit sector, particularly in how to effectively write grants and secure funding. I am also interested in learning about strategic planning and financial management within not-for-profit organizations to enhance their impact and sustainability.

My favorite childhood toy was a wind-up clockwork toy jumping frog. It brought me a lot of joy when playing with my childhood friends.

Over the last 4 months at my practicum at Elder Help Peel, I realized how much of a skill writing grants is. So, here I am, looking forward to learn more about this art of convincing people through words (only for fundings, haha).

As an International Student in Canada my journey was like on the Roller coaster. As a newcomer to this land, I faced various obstacles such as finding affordable housing, job homesickness, cultural competency and find ways to cope with them. With the passage of time in Canada, I was getting used to the new culture, environment and climate here. Then it made me realize that moving to Canada was not easy decision for me at first. Who knew that in new land I have to do all the household chores by my own, which my parents never let me do it in back home.

However, My expectations for this course are very high. As I am doing my practicum at Indus Community Services and there I came to know the importance of the grants . How government look at the proposals of the grants which is demanded by any Non-Profit Organization for the help of the well being. which I believe is the hardest part of any organization to run their system effectively. For this reason, I took this coarse to develop the skills of grant-writing.

My Favourite toy in the childhood was the remote control red colour car in Spiderman edition. My parents still laughs at the silly things which I had done in my childhood with that car. which sometimes make me embarrassed 🙈.

Over the last Four months in my practicum and as a social service worker student I understand that Grant Writing is important. I'm eager to understand how to craft persuasive grant proposals that effectively communicate the needs of our community programs. Additionally, I'm interested in gaining practical knowledge about budgeting and financial management within nonprofit organizations, so we can better serve the community and make the most out of the resources available to us.

My favorite toy in the childhood was a teddy bear. I enjoyed a lot of time playing with my teddy.

My favorite childhood toy was the "Yanghua", a type of rigid paper with various characters depicted on it. Children would compare the sizes of characters depicted in the "Yanghua" and use hand gestures to fan them to win others' "Yanghua." It allowed me to learn many historical stories and added infinite joy to my childhood.

I chose this course because I believe it will provide me with the necessary skills to effectively manage non-profit organizations and make meaningful contributions to the community. By learning about fundraising techniques and grant writing, I hope to acquire the tools needed to support the development and implementation of impactful projects.

It's nice to meet Professor Bethany and my familiar classmates. I hope we can spend this semester with laughter and laughter.

My interest in taking this course came when I attended practicum during my last term. At my placement, we ran various fundraisers and participated in round table discussions on how to raise money and community awareness for the organization. I became very interested in Grant Writing from this experience. My favourite childhood toy is BARBIE, you can imagine my joy when the movie appeared on the big screen last summer :)
