Many people think when their phone dings in the car "I just need a quick peek to see what they said." What many people don't know is in that quick 3 seconds it took them to look at their phone, they turned their hand that was on the steering wheel and now they're going in the direction of a ditch. A girl that went to my old school Grace, died a little over 2 weeks ago in a car accident because she looked down at her phone while driving. Weather it's an iphone, android, life's good or a good old flip phone; everyone's paying thousands of dollars for every latest phone! You might need it for work, family or just keeping up with the trends... But is it really nessasary to give one to your little one? Some parents give their children phones when they start school. Maybe a little later when they are a little more mature. But the question is still open; is it nessasary?
Giving a phone to your child may let them be happy for the time being, but it would cause a lot of trouble in the long run. They could start hiding stuff from you, have a lot of defiance at a really young age and more! And who are they gonna call? Their parents of course, but if someone calls them and they don't know who, that could be a potential threat to their lives and including your own.
But on the other hand, it's improtent to stay in touch with your parents. Maybe they're home alone, or maybe they're on a school trip to a neghborring country.
But if their home alone, the law states that they should be at least 13 years or older, and they can only stay at home for 2 hours without adult supervision. 13 years old is a great age to give your child a phone, either you have to leave them at home, and/or high school will be starting soon, and they will go there. But the point is, kids with phones can be one of your worst mistake to make your child happy. I don't think people should go to jail for texting and driving. Some times someone might be responding to emergency. I feel like that's okay to respond to, I also feel like its okay to respond to a text with (kk, lol, gtg, etc,) which all of these are shorten words, but if the cops pull you over and you were texting for a long period of time I think they should give them a ticket if the cops thought people thought they were harmed. For some people that have to respond to an text right away should put there phone in the back seat so there not able to get it. I hope you understand why I think cops should not lock up people that text and drive. But there is some benefits from texting and driving. Let's say someone you know got shot how would you know about it if you are not paying attention to your phone. I understand that. but you could die if you even look at your phone for one second, because you took your eyes off the road. So please don't even touch your phone while driving your even look somewhere else other than the road so you don't "crash and burn". Keep your eyes on the road, I am watching.....

Because lemme tell yall a little something, and this is a true story. A man was texting his girl friend on his way to work. while he was texting and driving, he kinda went into the other lane. He didn't crash into anyone but he was very close to the other car and the other car crashed and two people where on there was to work in that car. The man had to go into court to explain. The man he killed was a scientist and also a dad and a husband that had 3 children. The man that texted and drive felt so bad he said sorry so many times. The judge said he gets 2 days in jail. The man that texted and drive felt like he should get more, he felt that even 2 years wouldn't be good. He didnt know how to live with himself anymore. He was very sad and kept saying sorry. Even tho someone was texting and driving and crashed they might have a good heart, dont just throw them into jail just for that reason.
