Summary

This Sci-Fi/Action movie was the sequel to the even better original, “The Incredibles.” This is the story of your average superhero family who is forced to hide their powers from the world because “supers” are banned. In the movie, they seem to have good intentions in mind, fighting off “The Underminer” in the beginning, which set the pace for the rest of the movie because they tried to defeat The Underminer, keyword “tried”. While trying to save the city, they ended up doing more damage than fixing and the news reporters only saw the aftermath of what came out of it. The family then does everything they can to change the image of superheroes in the media so they can all live freely.

The Incredibles’ super suits are a bright and bold shade of red, which could be symbolic of the fact that they want to be seen for who they are (superheroes) even though there’s a law made to make sure they don’t use their powers.

"So when you fight bad guys like today, people don’t see what lead up to it, they see what politicians want them to see. They see destruction, and then they see you.” From what I’ve stated in the summary, it seems that this movie is based off the media portraying people and things as something they want to make it, just so they can shape the ideas of the people around them

Original vs. Sequel

In my OPINION, the sequel was good, but it will never be able to live up to the original movie despite the fact that we've waited about 15 years for it. I think the original was better because it was an introduction to everything and everyone. Syndrome had a better backstory because he was betrayed by his idol - Mr. Incredible. But I don’t get why all the superheroes have to suffer because Evelyn’s dad tried to contact two superheroes before trying to contact the police. The government had made it illegal for supers to reveal their powers by that time so he was out of luck. I’m sorry her dad’s an idiot I guess.

“Acting” or Animation, whatever you wanna call it

Obviously, the visual quality of the movie was amazing. We’ve seen our core five (Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl, Violet, Dash, and Jack Jack) plus Frozone (you can’t forget him), Winston Deavor, Evelyn Deavor (our antagonist), and a collection of other superheroes that we’ve never seen before. From the beginning, I thought the siblings were up to something because they seemed a little fake to me. Then the “Screenslaver” was introduced and I felt like it was definitely Winston Deavor who was pulling the strings because people always blame the face of the organization and not necessarily the people behind the face which, again, can be used as a way to shape the way people see certain things in the media.

When I first watched the movie back in July (plus the short clip before where the mom ate her dumpling son), I rated this movie a 7/10. After watching it a second time, I think I enjoyed it more when noticing the family being more united than I remembered. I guess I was just excited to be seeing it at the time but my final rating is a good 8.5/10. I would’ve traded a better plot for the visual quality, but I guess that’s just me.
