Summary of least favorite genre

I love all kinds of music. But, one that I despise is reggae. Reggae music is a genre that is not very popular in the U.S., but has plenty of fans from other countries that are very passionate about the music. Most reggae music has a fairly slow yet uplifting beat. It puts the listener in a good mood with an easy and care-free rhythm. This is important to note because the song I picked to be my example is a song that was originally meant to be a sad song. "Hello" by Adele is the song that Conkarah & Rosie Delmah decided to do a cover on. This song's lyrics and original sound all around had a depressing tone to it. The cover in the reggae version wasn't necessarily like this. It was still slow and the lyrics were the exact same. The only difference was the beat and also the voice of course. The 14-year old Rosie Delmah was a big hit in this song. Almost every news article online had Rosie at the headline when talking about this song. This song was big for the reggae community. Their music is not as popular as hip hop or pop in the U.S. and for major music websites and news articles to be talking about this song was big to them. People were amazed at how these two took a song that was meant to be saddening when you listen to it and turned it into a song that was somewhat joyous and uplifting. You can see it clearly how the community is reacting to the song in the music video with kids and family playing on the beach. This is great comparison to Adele music video where it is very gloomy and dark. I did not really gain any desire to want to listen to this genre anymore than I do now, but I did gain respect for the community and just the music itself a lot more. Their music is not as popular in our country, but that just means that the music that I love isn't that popular there too. They love their music as I do with my music, and even though they don't like my genre and I don't like theirs, I respect their way of life.
