         <title>Positive Reinforcement with stamp cards</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>We use stamp cards in class for whole class and individual positive reinforcement (purchased from Amazon). When students receive all of their "stamps" (hole punches) they get a choice of prize box, ipad time, or bag of chips. Every time we stamp their card we give specific feedback on what they were doing that earned a stamp. We cut them down for some students who need to work on smaller increments of reinforcement. You could also purchase hole punchers that punch in specific shapes such as stars or hearts (also available on Amazon) so as to ensure that students are not just giving themselves stamps.</p>]]></description>

We always wait for student to show us they are ready to learn before starting instruction. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Much like the reflective questions, this is used after an incident to help the child have an investment in reflecting on and changing behaviors. The angrier we are, the less our brain is working, so the visuals help even students who are verbal.</p>]]></description>

The meetings are not lengthy, just enough to say good morning, go over what the day has in store in terms of our schedule (also written on the whiteboard) and just chit chat for a bit. These morning meetings have impacted our class in positive ways, and have increased a sense of community. </title>

         <title>Calling students&#39; adults with positive comments is great. And the calls don&#39;t have to be packed with tons of compliments, one is perfect. For instance, I called a dad last week because their child refused to join in some bullying of another student and then checked on the student. The student was so happy I called Dad and Dad was bursting with pride. Win Win! </title>
