The place where most people today can feel at ease is somewhere with technology to use around and with lots of people to chat.

Sherry Turkle in "Connected, But Alone" addresses real issues related to technology specifically about people's dependency on cellular devices. I agree that the purpose of technology is changing the way of living to be easier, but it also gives us a disadvantage in human connection and to develop social skills. We have begun to depend on technology and get used to the life of being connected rather than to have a face to face conversation which can be more genuine. Most people nowadays have been texting more than talking. But if we grew up talking more than texting, we wouldn't be socially awkward and will have better social skills when it comes to real life interactions like meeting your boss for the first time or meeting that new friend in person.

Another point she talked about is people not knowing how to be alone, I can see the truth in that. Oftentimes, I enjoy being alone and being able to think, but I have realized that I am always drawn to using my phone during this times and way too focused on it. Even with family and friends, I would often tune out to what people are saying around me because I'm so concentrated on my phone. I've come to realize that I need to fix this problem and limit my time on my phone. While texting can be convenient in being able to contact others, people should limit their use on phones because it can hurt their ability to start a conversation in person and can be more productive. I think that the speaker is right about there's still time for us to move ourselves away from a constant need for technology.
