         <description><![CDATA[<p>The experience that impacted me the most was getting to run assessments on a focus student. I felt I knew this student academically but I was wrong. As I am conducting the provided tests, I came to realize how genuinely useful the assessments were. It was eye opening to see my student's reading interests and abilities.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Through my literacy instruction, my students will be able to discover who they are as readers. Through activities such as reading circles and book tastings, students will get the opportunity to discover what kinds of genres they prefer and what reading level they feel comfortable at. They will learn what kind of student they are for goal setting with reading as we all track our individual readings through comprehension assessments.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>My literacy instruction will help my students read their world by reading greater texts. Often teachers allow students to read whatever they want, but that does not broaden their horizons into seeing things differently. I like running question and response sessions off of the books my students are reading. When we read together as a class, I will ask higher level questioning to get them to read between the lines. This opens conversations of concepts they might not have ever heard of. Then, they will be able to connect these new concepts to the world as they see it. This will inform their actions and behaviors because they will be able to think of the things we read/learn about in class. This might influence their next choice to do the right thing or to help someone out.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Keeping up with students ever-growing identities is a challenge, but it is a challenge that makes our class community so engaging and fun. I try to stay up to date with new games, lingo, and interests of my students. I will incorporate these into our activities so that it keeps student engagement up and incorporates them as much as possible. With our reading, I always utilize different strategies like choral reading, popcorn reading, or call-on reading to use as many students as possible. With writing, I always start with fun and creative warm-ups. I like to do these warm-up topics based on their interests. </p>]]></description>
