I enjoy latin because its interesting to connect English roots to latin words, and it can also be really satisfying when I'm able to translate a passage fluently. I think my biggest challenge last year was retaining vocab, but in order to solve this I will have to review vocab more consistently and mindfully in the future. The piece of advice I'd give a new latin student would be to not just complete work because you have to but actually try to understand and retain the work you're completing.

how does fear play a role on power on a local, national, or global level?

Fear and power have been in association with each other for years. Even in Gaul, the fear of Gods motivated people to respect and worship them. I'm not quite sure why this is, but fear submits people into following a leader and not wanting the person or thing inflicting fear to do anything worse. Fear is not necessarily the driving factor for this to work. It's the fear of disappointing or getting on the bad side of that person or thing. In the world today, we have the same fears and usually tend to follow whoever is most powerful.

1. How was the transition from Unit 1 to Unit 2 for you?
the transition fro unit 1 to unit 2 was not too difficult for me. The main difference is the length of translations for homework, although if spaced out is pretty manageable.

2. How was the Cadence of week 2.1 for you ?
week 2.1 went pretty well, the translation of chapters 1-4 though it was a lot, was fairly manageable and understandable.

3. How did your manus work go last week?
our manus worked well tether, we traslated parts together and parts individually and went over it together to make sure we had a full understanding and then took the comprehension together.

4. Do you have any concerns or questions about our remote learning weeks Decemeber.1-January 19?
not yet, because I've been remote for the past two weeks already.

1) In what ways have you improved since the last sight?
I did not complete the sight from window III, but looking t other past assignments I can see that I've struggled with verb tenses and vocab mostly.
In this assignment I only had one error on tense.

2) How did you achieve this improvement?
I worked on looking over the text before submitting and translating literally first then ordering the words fluently.

3) In what way would you like to continue to improve?
I would like to work on my participle identification and vocab.

4) What are you most proud of accomplishing in your reading & translation skills this year?
I'm proud that I can work through passages quickly then go back and edit, because that was a goal of mine instead of just having enough time to translate once.
