As previously discussed before, the book seems to showcase only the autistic part of Christopher, and doesn't delve into his personality. But there are times, such as when Mrs. Alexander tells him about his mother and Mr.Shears and Christopher left shortly after that, it shows he is upset and probably confused. His emotions feel forcely restrained from the reader.

A memorable scene was when Christopher talks about how metaphors and lies are confusing for him, and how is name is a metaphor. He says, "I want my name to be me", something along those lines. It felt really relatable, because we have to make our name mean us, rather than the other way around.
