https://padlet.com/biancacatherineknight/About Educated as a broadcast communications professional and experienced as an office administrator, Bianca Catherine Knight experienced a complete life shift at the age of 28. She began to notice changes in her vision and sought answers from eye and neurological care physicians. Finally, Bianca Catherine Knight received the diagnosis of Leber's hereditary optic neuropathy (LHON), a genetic condition with no known cure. After receiving her diagnosis, Bianca Catherine Knight dedicated herself to learning the adaptive technology that would allow her to retain her independence. She became involved in community work and took on the role of organizer for the Tennessee Disability Coalition, in which role she promoted awareness of the needs and rights of individuals with disabilities. She then decided to pursue a longtime goal and applied to law school. As a student at the Belmont University College of Law, Ms. Knight performed at a high level in her coursework and began working with the Legal Aid Society, which allowed her to fulfill her Pro Bono Pledge with the American Inns of Court. She graduated cum laude in 2014 and received her bar admission following her first attempt at the examination. Since that time, Ms. Knight has used her expertise as an attorney to help those with disabilities. She has represented clients in employment discrimination matters and worked to secure accommodations when needed.
