Personally, I think that buying something is just as valuable as something home-made. Some people just don't have enough time to make something, so buying something is the best they can afford to do, and that's ok.

In my opinion I would say that It isn't necesary to buy something, so if you do the present by your self is more significant for my. Because if you craft something for one person in special you will think in her or him and spent time doing it.

In my point of view, Valentine's gifts are fine but they should not be excessively expensive gifts.
