According to Flohr there is no one way that is correct to teach children, however the article lists many important points. Some of the main focus is that children need to be taught in a way that fits their unique capabilities or learning experiences. They vary in how they are able to learn, and Flohr emphasizes that it is important to know this. The children need many tools to succeed. They need support and structure from parents, teachers, and peers. They need to be rush in an understanding yet acceptable and productive instructive way. The teacher needs to support them and that creates opportunities for success.

-AS

According to Flohr there is a big variation in each childs development. Every child is going to learn differently and it is important for teachers and parents to be aware of that. For a child to develop a particular skill they need many many experiences with the skill and tools prior to mastering the skill.
- AD

Children develop within a community from multiple things according to Flohr. Flohr states that every child is unique so development is not the same for everyone. The three contexts a child develops from are social, cultural, and historical. He also believes that music education has a huge affect on children and that by started them at a young age it could very well affect them in their future musical development. What children need is various experiences and support from their schools and teachers.

-GR

According to Flohr, there is no one specific way a child develops and learns within their community because each child is so different but there are principles of development and learning that inform practice. After a child has developed through the milestones of their first few years of life, their surroundings and their genes begin to play a huge part in who they become and where they are developmentally. In order to develop they need social, cultural and historical experiences.

-RW

Children learn and develop based on a variety of factors, these factors include a child's' culture, social class, racial/ethnic group. Because all children are unique their development varies based on their experiences.
-BS

Children learn and develop within a community through multiply ways. Their physical, social, cognitive, and emotional development are closely "linked." "Development in one domain influences and is influenced by development in other domains." (Flohr, Pg. 2.) During the first nine years of life, a "relatively stable, predictable sequence of growth and change occur." (Flohr, Pg. 2.) There is an optimal period of growth, where the learning is faster and easier, and then there is the critical period, where the stimulants for growth should be present, or the time will pass, thus, stunting the child's cognitive growth in that area. A child's home life can greatly affect the outcomes of a child's growth. A child needs to feel safe and secure in order for their growth to be maximized. Play is pertinent to the child's growth, as well.
-BH

Children learn and develop in in different domains and at different rates. The domains, physical, social, emotional, and cognitive, very often intersect each other, as more than one domain is addressed during a single experience. When children are learning in a community their experiences are shared, forming a bond. Teachers can aid in the communal learning process by providing opportunities for children to come together to share their knowledge and experiences.

-EV

Children learn and develop in many different ways. The community they grow up in affects them socially, physically, emotionally, and cognitively. The culture in which a child is raised in has a tremendous impact on their growth and how they learn. Each child has their own rate of development.
