Analysis of the role of the Koorie Heritage Trust‘ Gnokan Danna Murra Kori-ki’ (Give me your hand my friend) in Gunditjmara and Yorta Yorta-	Key roles: To promote, support and celebrate the continuing journey of the Aboriginal people of South Eastern Australia. With the vision of making Aboriginal culture and history, a fundamental part of Victorian life. The Koorie Heritage Trust supports the perpetuation of the culture of South Eastern Aboriginal people, with a focus on the consolidation and reclamation of culture. So as to strengthen culture for the next generation of Aboriginal people, but also for Australians more broadly, so that they are able to access the knowledge of this land, despite ongoing colonisation and erasure of Indigenous footprints. There are obviously limits about the kinds of work that can be shown in the exhibitions at the Koorie Heritage trust, and about how the trust remains an Aboriginal first space. However these limits do not seek to exclude non-Indigenous people, but only to create clear boundaries and protect sacred cultural/historical and artistic integrity of Koorie people. It is important for the Koorie heritage trust to be specific about who it represents, as cultural LORE/practice varies greatly across Aboriginal societies. It is also crucial to express the cultural practice of Koorie people, as they have been pushed out of the narrative of Australian history, often diminished, misunderstood and silenced. Koorie people, whilst having initially suffered greater contact with colonisers, have still kept many artistic and cultural practices in-tact. The trust consolidates all of these histories rather than a broader narrative about Australian Aboriginal people.
