Structure of a simple cover letter:

1. Greeting (Dear…)

2. Introduction (who you are, what job)

3. Body (why you’re good for the job)

4. Closing (thank you, goodbye)

Students work in pairs and complete  a simple letter with missing words

5. Activity 2: Match Sections

Students receive cut-up parts of a cover letter and put them in order

• Imagine you are applying for a job as a waiter, shop assistant, or receptionist.

• Use the structure and phrases learned. Write 80 words
