    - Almost everyday this shopping mall will always be packed by people from all walks of life. There are many retail shops and entertainment like the cinema.

    - A place where most elders will be at with their old friends attending a wide variety of activities held by the community club. Of course not only the elders go there often. Many families attend this activities to further bond with each other.
    4.  Chinese Garden and Japanese Garden 
    - In the 1970s and 1980s this two gardens are best remembered as well-loved locations for wedding photography.   • Most of the interviewees chose 'Wet Market' as their favourite place. 
  • Majority of the interviewees who chose 'Wet Market' are aged between 51 - 60. 
  • This is because they enjoy going to the market to buy groceries and usually they will meet their friends there so they will chat there and will learn more about each others lives. 
    • I enjoy going to the wet market in the morning... I get to see the fresh vegetables and freshly-cut meat. It reminds me of my young times with my mother in the market buying groceries for the family.
    • 2 of the interviewees also said that the 'Coffee Shops' is their favourite place as they sell food which they have been eating since young so they know the stall owners well.

  • People have a strong sense of belonging towards their neighbourhood, Jurong. 
  • Maybe in the near future they might move to another estate but for now, Jurong is special to them as some of them spent their childhood in Jurong.
  • Places like the wet market and playground are meaningful to them as they spent most of their time here or they grew up here.
